The.Mayor reported that.he had conferred with Dr: Crum with regard to the dog quarantine as it:applies to the Village:. Upon recommendation : of -Dr.. Crum, Mayor;-Kenerson stated that.he, had; agree d to some newspaper publicity,,in which the city, "the,,, town arid, the,,, village would cooperate.. The,Mayor stated this- might.,involve•a small expense: IT WAS VOTED that the action of.the Mayor.in connection with 76 the dog quarantine be approved. 5. Village of Cayuga Heights" be used. He reported that the necessary permit for the_purchase.of the truck had been received from Washington. . Engineer Crandall reported that.h'e had completed a contract with Moran, Gleason & Knight for the resurfacing of a certain list of roads' at a cost of #1650. The detailed list was filed with the Clerk. 7. .Police Commissioner Crandall reported that Officer VanZile had been busy_'with the enforcement of the dog quarantine., 8. Tlie Clerk reported that_: he had received:a.letter. from the State Tax Commission offering to have an appraisal made of.the value of the public utility property, within the Village Inasmuch as such an appraisal was made only recently, .' 1t was agreed that there was nothing to be gained in having a new,one made at;this time. 77 IT WAS VOTED that the Treasurer be In to pay no.more . bills without a cop'yy of the completed certification as above noted, ' attached to the invoice,.except in the cases of fixed'salaries where it is not required. . The :State Auditor also suggested ttat more suit"able.books ' of, account might be kept and furnished the name of a:publieher::of . various village'record books. Treasurer Guise`;said he had. :already received a sample copy of one but was not sure as:to its practicality. IT.WAS VOTED that the_Treasurer and&the'Olerk investigate the possibility of 'obtaining.new,account books to replace the one now in use, in order to improve the Village' account Ing.records, 6. .Engineer Crandall.reported that.the`first mowing`.of lots had beencompleted and that• the second mowing would_ be' undertaken at a later date this. summer. The'Engineer, reported that the.chassis for the nevr truck which had been ordered via now in Ithaca.but the body was not.yet ready and it would probably be another month before.the new.-truck could be used. He reported that the necessary permit for the_purchase.of the truck had been received from Washington. .
