Rumsey - Supplies :.: 3.80 ' 3• Engineer Orandall presented a letter from F .H Springer,., City Clerk of Ithaca, stating.that the Board of,:Publdc:Worke, had taken the, following action: "RESOLVED :: that the. offer of the, Village of Cayuga Heights be accepted, and that tb6 use.I�of the:ddmp;be permitted at the price of 075 annually on the basis of,the:estimate of four loads.weekly, provided a certificate of insurance, :is filed with the City Clerk.indemnifying the City against,ahy* damages. arising from the use thereof.°, The Engineer, reported that he,had requested:the.MoKinney Agency to file the requested certificate with•the City..::This. will be,. accomplished by,an endorsement _to,our present policy. naming the City as co- beneficiary without extra cost to: the Village IT WAS VOTED to pay.the city 075 "in accordance with the,, arrangement worked out by Mr. ,Crandall ' and' the Clerk was, requested, 4; to pay this sum automatically July ist of each year, together. with: 72 the #25 payment to 'Jacob Novidor £or.rent of the property. 5. Mayor'Kenerson,brought up.. the queetion'of,proper Village procedure in view. of the fact that State authorities had placed ' a dog quarantine on Tompkins County due to prevalence of::rabies, After discussion, IT WAS,: VOTED 'that office ii, .VanZile should be requested to enforce the, dog. quarantihe within the Village limits. Police Commiss .loner,,Crandall..said ",he would,:explain to, officer.'_ VanZile what'would be properenforcement under, the circumetances. " 6. Treasurer,Guise. presented the financial report '.of June 30th: showing a cash balance of, 418; 670 92..` He reported that all taxes,'" were now paid with. exception of X1588 Due to the large cash balance, - IT WAS VOTED to,place 13,000 in ,the Street .Improvement, Capital Reserve Fund in accordance with ":the action`of the,Trustees.as '• listed on page 54 of the Minutes arid' in accordance with�,the amount" budgeted for this"purpose for the current year: IT WAS VOTED that the same Village officers which,are authorized to sign Village checks on their current account be. authorized to sign on the.Street Improvement Capital Reserve Fund; of the Village of'Cayuga Heights account.. The Clerk was requested to furnish.a copy of the-above. resolution to the Treasurer for transmission to the bank.'_ 7. Police Commissioner Crandall 'reported that'officer VanZile had observed practically no dogs. running "loose; n the Village to date.. 8. Police Commissioner Crandall reported that four `or`five boys had been causing some disturbance and 'been \taken. before ; Justice Maxfield and been given a warning Mr Crandall'nreport6 ' several minor cases which had kept_'officer VanZile fairly busy during'the month. 73 9.• Engineer Crandall reported that he,had filled out and sent in the proper forms.to.the O.D.T. in Binghamton for the purchase of a Village truck in accordance with'the action.taken at'the meeting on June 4th, ".and eaid'that;he had,been.'advised that the truck allotment had` been used up; for the current rtionth'.but. .that :the priority request would�be sent on "to Washington.shortly ., The Engineer reported ;that Mr.:Moeher. had made hirti "sn.offer:of #200 f or, .the old Village truck,.,which was X50 "in excess of the " offer made by the,College .Chevrolet Co. Engineer Crandall reported that "he had engaged Mr.'Mosher to mow the lots at.03 an hour and that the work was Me -aring :!completion. 11. Engineer Crandall reported that he had made ".up a',list.of the streets that needed"resurfacing,this year and had sent,it on to Moran, Gleason & Knight ,for the estimated cost of the work: " IT WAS VOTED. "to, authorize Engineer Crandall: to let a contract to Moran, Gleason & Knight for the resurfacing,of. "the streets iri.the Village within the #1900 :provided in the budget, the streets' to be resurfaced to be left to the judgment of the.Engineer.,:1 The "Engineer reported that the recent heavy rains had done little damage except on Sunset Drive and instructions had been given the Village workmen':to enlarge and deepen.certain ditches to correct the difficulty. . 12. The Engineer reported that.he had issued a' building permit to Dr. Wightman to build a,garage'and. that, Dr..'Wightman.had`paid-01 for the permit. 13. ,The Clerk reported that Dr. Wightman:had "reimbursed the" Village -in the amount "of12 in connection with the water meter which was assessed by the''City and, which, was•pre.viously paid',by the Village., The Clerk reported that a free-auto use stamp had,been obtained' from the Collector of Internal Revenue for'use on the`Village. truck. ' 74 14. Trustee Shirey made a report on the rate cards for the taxicabs, saying that the operators had agreed to the use of , the cards and as 'a result he had had 50 cards printed to be sold to the taxicab operators at 10¢ each. Trustee Shirey reported that several of the operators had already purchased the cards and he would see to it that all of them purchased them. 15. The balance of the evening was.,spent•in revision of the ordinances. 16. Upon invitation of Trustee Randal, it was decided to hold the next meeting at his home at 1002 Triphammer Road on August 6th at 7:30 P.M. 17. Adjourned at 10 :30 P.M. Clerk. '
