HomeMy WebLinkAboutSpec Mtg. Minutes- 11/21/19444.5 MINUTES of a special meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Village of Cayuga Heights held at the schoolhouse at 5.P.M, on Nov. 21, 1944. 1. On this date the Board of Trustees-sat for four hours, from 5 P.M. until 9 P.M. as a Board of Assessors to hear grievances and complaints with-regard to•the assessment roll as prepared by them for the year 1945, and as filed with the Village Clerk on Oct. 17, 1944. 2.. Complaints were received from the- -following:- a) Mrs. Harriet M. Libby regarding -the assesement-on her properties at 206 Overlook Rd., 202 Overlook Rd.,.and 103 Hanshaw Rd. Bounded N - McConnell & Sanderson E - Overlook Rd. S - Kline Rd. & Kennard W - Pratt, Crandall, Bacon, Kennard 1 The claimant appeared in person to object to the assessment of #280000. ACTION: No change was made. b) Mrs. Dwight Sanderson-regarding the assessment on her property at 212 Overlook Road. Bounded N - Finlayson E - Overlook Rd.- S - Libby W - McConnell & Hanshaw Rd. The claimant-objected by telephone to the aseeeement of #12,000, stating that the lower half of her lot had been sold to J. A. McConnell for- #1,200. ACTION: IT WAS VOTED to decrease the land assessment of Mrs. Sanderson from $3,000 to $1,800, making her total assessment ' $10,800; and to increase the land assessment of J. A. McConnell from'$2,600 to 03,800 making hie total assessment $19,200. 1 46 3. IT WAS VOTED, WHEREAS: The Village Board of Cayuga Heights, acting as assessors of the said Village according to a resolution previously adopted, have prepared an assessment roll fbr_1945 and filed it in duplicate with the Clerk of the Village , prior to November :lst, 1944 and- - WHEREAS: The Clerk caused a-notice to be published in the official newspaper-of - the Village and posted-in five conspicuous places in the Village--before November 8, 1944 a notice--that-the 1945 assessment roll was filed at his residenoe, 102 Northway Road, Cayuga Heights, New York, where it might be seen until November 218t, 1944 and WHEREAS: On the said 21st day of November a Grievance Day was held and the said Board met-from 5 P.M. until 9 P.M. on the said day, two persons appearing and changes made as disclosed in the minutes of the-said Board•; now °therefore -be it RESOLVED that the said-assessment roll as now prepared and - verified with the assessor's oath be now completed, verified and ordered filed with the Clerk, in the total amount of 03,068,437. �� Clerk
