MINUTES of a regular meeting of the Village Board held on
Monday, May 11 1944 at the home of Mayor Kenerson.'

1. The minutes of the meeting of April 3rd were read and,
approved.
2. IT WAS VOTED that from now on the payment of the salaries
of regular appointed officers of the Village should not be listed
in the minutes of each Village meeting, inasmuch as the amounts
are provided for in the budget and the appointment of the officers
approved by specific trustee action.
3. IT WAS VOTED that the salaries of the regular Village
workmen for 1944 -45 are as follows: Frank Haskins $1800 annually
and James Collins 01500 annually. '
4. The following bills paid on authority of the Mayor were
approved:
GENERAL
S. L. Sheldon 2.64
J. B. Trouedale - 1¢ stamps 3.01
Postmaster - 500 window envelopes 16.24
HIGHWAYS
W. D. Lyme - Gas & oil 39.00
Moran, Gleason & Knight 41.25
5. The following additional bills were approved for payment:
GENERAL
C. H. Guise - 1¢ stamps 5.00
WATER, FIRE & POLICE
Carl Crandall - April services 2.00
SANITATION
Carl Crandall - April services 2.00 '
6. The Treasurer reported a cash balance as of April 30th
of $2,632.42. He stated this was a substantial balance as the
tax money would start coming in the early part of June. The

Treasurer also reported the receipt of $225 from Mrs. Erma
Cicchetti to pay for water and sewer rights on Triphammer Road.
eIT WAS VOTED that the action of the Engineer in permitting
Mrs. Cicchetti to connect with the Village water line for 075
and with the sewer line for 0150 be confirmed.
It was noted that there would be no annual sewer charge of
027 until a house is built on the site at a later date. The lot
Involved is the one on the northeast corner of Upland and Triphammer
Roads.
7. The report of the Engineer, who was unable to be present,
was presented by Clerk Trousdale. The Engineer reported that he
had received a complaint.from Prof. Mason that the occupants of the
fraternity house on Highland Road next to Prof. Mason's house had
been dumping their garbage adjacent to Prof. Mason's house. The
Engineer said he had contacted the fraternity boys and they had
promised to clean the rubbish up. Police Officer VanZile has been
instructed to check on the matter to -see that it is done. The
nuisance was reported to be attracting a large number of rats.
The Engineer also reported that someone had been going
along in a car with a long pule ana unnure.,ing and stealing
street lights and fixtures. Police Officer VanZile and Mr.
Haskins had both bee n instructed to watch for a re- occurrence.
8. Upon invitation of Trustee Bayles the next meeting
was scheduled to be held at his home at 7:30 P.M. on June 5th.
