MINUTES of a special meeting of the Board of Trustees
of the Village of Cayuga Heights held at the Schoolhouse at
5 P.M. -on November 16, 1943.
1. On this. date the Board of Trustees sat for four hours
from 5.P.M. until 9 P.M• as a Board of Assessors to'hear
grievances,and' complaints with regard to,the assessment roll
as prepared by them for the year 1944, and'as.filed'with. the:"
Village Clerk on October 11,.1943:
2. A complaint.was•,:received from.the. following :,.
Prof. J. R: Livermore regarding the assessment on his
property at 110, Iroquois Road
Bounded ,N - Matheson
E - Matheson
S - Iroquois.Rd.
W.- Cornell Estate
The claimant appeared in person to object to the.
assessment_ of..$90000, stating that he thought it was. too
high compared with similar properties in the neighborhood.
ACTION: IT 'HAS VOTED to.reduce the assessment on
the lot from $1,200 to ,$1,100, and to reduce-the-assessment.
on the house from $7,800 to,$7,600,,making the total assessment
$8,700.
3. IT WAS VOTED, WHEREAS- The Village Board of Cayuga
Heights, acting as.assessors of the said Village according1to
a resolution previously adopted, have prepared an assessment
roll for 1944 and filed it in duplicate with the Clerk of.the
Village prior to November let, 1943 and
WHEREAS: The Clerk caused a notice to be published in the
official newspaper of the Village and posted in five conspicuous
places in the Village on.or before November 8th 1943 a notice
that the 1944 assessment roll was filed at his residence, 102 .
Northway Road, Cayuga Helghts,.New York, where it might be seen
until November 16, 1943 and
WHEREAS: On the said 16th day of November a Grievance Day:
was held and the said Board met from 5 P.M. until.9'P.M.',on
the same day., one person appearing and changes made as disclosed
in,the minutes of the said Board,.now therefore be it .
