Kenerson, Mayor C. I. Sayles, Trustee T. B. Maxfield, Trustee Sherwood Holt,.Trustee C,.- H.- 'Guise,. Treasurer 1. The minutes of the January 4th meeting were read and,.' approved with'the following correction: Page 236, item 8,` third .• line, change "policeman.':'.to "truck"..' 2. IT WAS VOTED to go into .a committee of the whole to make up the budget for 1943 -44 Treasurer ,Guise.:pr.esented a.financial statement in which was indicated the:bud6et for 1942 43+ and furnished estimates of expensesfor the complete . year.1942 -43.; The budget committee decided upon estimated expenses for .thei.yeer :. 1943 -44. Treasurer Guise, reported that.the ,taxes,on - all properties except two had been paid. After the..budget committee had completed its work the Trustees continued with the busines's of the meeting. 3. IT WAS VOTED, RESOLVED: That the tentative budget for 1943 -44 as submitted by the.budget committee be recommended by the, Board to the residents of the Village for discussion. 4. The following bills paid on authority of'the Mayor.were approved: GENERAL The Wilcox Press = 2,000 assessment roll-forms; 1,000.checks 25.95 SANITATION Frank Haskins - Salary Jan. 1 - 15, 37.50, James Collins - Salary Jan.'l -..15 31.25. HIGHWAYS Frank Haskins - Salary.Jan. 1 - 15 37.50 James Collins :".31.25., Charles Collins'- Snow plowing` 42.00, 5. The following additional bills were approved,for:payment• GENERAL ' Robert C. The*'Clerk reported that the matter of. renewing °the street:. certificate had been,brought'to a satisfactory conclusion with`the execution of a statement signed'by: the Mayor, of the; Village,- the Clerk . of the Village, and the Treasurer of-the Ithaca Savings Bank,: As,'a matter of record it_ was" reported that'the besolution passed by.the Village on October"5th.which appears'in item 12 on page 222.was °in correct ,formf: 7. Upon receiving the account of unpaid taxes from the'' Treasurer,, comparing it with the,original.tax roll ,of' the . Village, and finding it to be a true transcript thereof, the. "Board`of Trustees;. voted to sign the certification, in accordance with Section 126 -b of the Village Law. 8. IT WAS VOTED that Mayor Kenerson be authorized to appoint three residents of the Village to act as a nominating committee to. make nominations for two trustees to be elected in.plac,e of.Trustees Maxfield and Holt whose terms expire, 9. IT WAS VOTED, RESOLVED: That according to .the provisions of Section 52 of the Village Law of the State of New York, a "Village election will be held on March 16, 1943 at theiSchoolhouse .in the Village of Cayuga Heights, the polls to be open between 4-P.M` and 8 P.M..at which time two trustees will be elected.in'place "..of Trustees Maxfield and Holt whose terms expire.'? The Clerk.was directed to,cause a notice, to be, inserted in the Ithaca Journal at least ten days prior to the`electio,n with regard to the time and place of the election and ,the offices to 'be .` 240 filled, and to poet a copy of the said notice in at least six conspicuous public places in the Village giving the same information. '- •10. IT WAS VOTED that the annual meeting for the residents of the Village to make nominations for trustees and to consider the tentative budget for 1943 -44 be set for March 15th at 8 o'clock. 11. IT WAS VOTED that the next meeting of the Village Trustees be held on March 15th at 7 :00 P.M. in the Schoolhouse. 12. IT WAS VOTED, RESOLVED,: That in accordance with Section 102 of the Village Law the Treasurer be instructed to publish and post his annual report or a summary thereof at least one week prior to the annual election. 13. IT WAS VOTED that Paul Bradford be engaged as auditor dfr the Village books for the year ending•Feb. 28, 1943. 14. IT WAS VOTED, RESOLVED: That in accordance with Section 101 -b of the Village Law those appropriations showing overdrafts be financed by transfers from unexpended balances of other. appropriations as set up in the budget. 15.
