4. The Mayor reported that William Geer had brought up the
question of a bus shelter at the five corners. As no:requests from
any of the residents of the Village who ride the buses had.yet come
in for a, shelter at this point the matter -was laid on'the.table.
5.' Treasurer Guise reported 'a cash balance.on December 31st of
#8,150.90:
6. The Treasurer returned his tax warrant and report of unpaid
taxes which are incorporated in these minutes. The unpaid taxes,
interest, and other charges indicated a total of $700.97 as of
January 4, 1943.
IT WAS VOTED, RESOLVED: WHEREAS at a regular meeting of -the
Board of Trustees of the Village of Cayuga Heights, held on November
17, 1942 at the Schoolhouse in the said Village, the Treasurer of
the said Village was directed to return his warrant and tax roll and
an account of the taxes, assessments and charges remaining due,
containing a description of the lands upon which such taxes were unpaid
as the same were placed upon the tax list, together with the amount of
the taxes, assessments or charges so assessed and the interest thereon,
together with a sworn statement that the taxes, assessments and
charges mentioned in such account remain unpaid, and that after
diligent efforts he has been unable to collect.the same, and
WHEREAS at a regular meeting of the Board of.Trusteee of the
Village of Cayuga Heights held at 207.Iroquois Road in the.said
Village on the 4th day of January 1943,.the Treasurer did comply with ,
the aforesaid directions, his said statement being attached hereto
showing a balance unpaid of ,#700.97,

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Board..of Trustees of the
Village of Cayuga Heights do credit the Treae'uier'with the amount
of 0700.97, according to the provisions of Section 126 -a of the
Village Law of the State of New York.
7. IT WAS VOTED, RESOLVED that the following unpaid taxee be
advertised for sale.on.Feb. 3, 10, and 17th and if still"unpaid their..

8. The Engineer reported that his main activity during the
past month had been in trying.to secure gasoline for the Village
Peiiee-, and after much difficulty he had obtained "the necessary
ration books which will give him approximately 100,gallons:;a. month.
The Engineer reported there was practically; no flood•,damage,�, .
in the Village during; the flood'that:occurred during the; week of
Dec. 27th. He reported that�a: few limbs were broken off during the
storm.'
9. The•Clerk:reported that the School,.Board: was .:having,,
difficulty in securing Ash:removal from.the..schoolhouse_:at a� reason
able price and_.asked:1f the Village:workmen could-not. do it at'a :.'
lower figure than that charge d'by Charles, 'Collin s; the: :colle,ctor ".
for the school. After discussion
IT WAS VOTED that inasmuch as the School 2BO,ard had,: permitted.
the Village Trustees to have meetings in the school on occasion
the Village would collect the ashes from the school property without
charge until further, notice, if.the ashes were placed at the edge
of the driveway where they could,be.,readily.picked up,by.the-Village
truck.
10, Clerk Trousdale reported that he had received a letter
from Allan Treman, Attorney for the Savings Bank; in.which he,Andicated
that the renewal of the certificate of indebtedness did.not meet. .the
requirements of.the.State bank examiners. Trustee Shirey reported,.
that he had conferred with Attorney Treman on..the,subject.and'found,:
that the bank examiners .thought that the resolution adopted by:the'
Village Board on October 5th 1942 was not,.legal. After considerable
discussion
IT WAS VOTED that Clerk Trousdale should notify Attorney Treman :.

matter raised in his letter had been brought before the
and that the matter would be immediately investigated
on the completion
of which he would be notified of the result.

The Board voted to fix the salary of Police Officer VanZile
at $600
per•year and.his car allowance at ?300 per year'as of
January,l,
1943.

Mayor Kenerson appointed the'Trustees a committee of the
whole to
act as a budget committee.

The next meeting was, elated for February 11 1943.at 7:30 P.M.
The Board accepted with,thanks Prof. Bayles' invitation to, meet at
his home
at 410 Triphammer Road.
