Minutes- 3/15/1943244 , MINUTES of'the annual'.meeting of the.residents of the Village " of Cayuga Heights held at the Schoolhouse;;' at ':8 P M on :March ' 15, 1943. 1. Mayor Kenerson was elected,Chairman`.of the meeting an Clerk Trousdale was appointed. Secretary. 2. ;Mayor Kenerson reported the principal activities of'vthe past year, calling attention to the `inability of,the.;Village -to surface the roads:;,in the summer due .to shortage'of materiale,.to the proposed improvements to.the street lighting which',ha`d to be,. postponed, to the placing of.the police officer :on ,a half time basis,. and to the. excellent financial condition of theWillage. 3. Treasurer';,Guise.presented the financial'etatement indicating the receipts and disbursements of:the:Village:for tYie;year;:and presented.the tentative budget totalling 927,255.91 The estimate., of income indicated that a tax.rate.of,5 mills would',be sufficient to meet this budget. He stated that the Village,debt,now stood ' at 910,000. . 4. The Clerk read the,report of the nominating committee consisting of Sherman Peer, Chairman, H. H. Scofield and George I. Dale, which stated that they were unanimous in,nominating:Mr. T., B. Maxfield and Sherwood Holt, the present.incumbents,:for'another term. 5. IT WAS VOTED that the nominations be'closed. 6. It was pointed out.that it would'be possible'_to reduce;the tax rate to 4.5 mills,.but after discussion it was :decided'.that . it might be Just as well to. leave the tax rate,at 5 mills and:pay.. off the indebtedness at.s. more. rapid ' rate! with the idea after the indebtedness were pa id, off. uld it wo then be;:possible o .. , , •, after the war to appropriate a larger amount for; permanent Improvements with raising the-tax rate:., e
