' MINUTES of a regular meeting of the Village Board held on
Monday, Feb. 2, 1942 at 7 :30 P.M. in the Schoolhouse.

1.. The minutes of the meeting of Jan. 5th were read and
approved-.
2. The Treasurer reported a, cash balance as of•Jan:.3lst of
069503.13, and-reported the following unpaid taxes: Mrs. Constance
Dall, 069.90; J. J. Daly- Lot 225c 469.31; Francis McCann 052.90;
total- unpaid- taxes 0192.11.
3. IT WAS VOTED to go into a committee of the whole to
consider the budget.

4. IT'WAS VOTED, RESOLVED: That the tentative budget for
1942 -4�is submitted by the budget committee be recommended by the
Board to the residents of the-Village for discussion.
5. The following bills paid on authority of the Mayor were
approved:
GENERAL
Robert C. VanZile - January salary & car allowance 6141.66
SANITATION
Charles Mosher - January garbage collection 150.00
HIGHWAYS
Frank Haskins - 35 hr. ® 1.15 40.25
Bert I. Vann, Supt. - 4 traffic signs, 2 slow signs 64.00
Charles Collins - 14 hr. snow plowing 14.00
The bill of 015.95 to W. S.,Darley & Co. for a police siren
was tentatively approved pending investigation as-to the previous
bill paid for a siren.
6. The following additional bills'were approved for payment:

7. Mayor-Kenerson reported that he had received a letter from
Mayor Comfort of the City of Ithaca inquiring as to tires that
might be needed by the Village of Cayuga Heights: Mayor Kenerson
replied giving the names of the different employees of the Village
who used care on-utilityand police work.
8. The Engineer reported that Officer VanZile had apprehended
two students shooting a shotgun that nearly hit a woman in the
Village. He also reported -that a student•by the name of Arthur
Jones was fined $25 for discharging a shotgun within the Village.
9. The Clerk reported that Mrs. G•: H. Robinson had been
appointed Chairman of a committee to arrange for rooms in Cayuga
Heights for evacuated children, and that she needed a Village map
to carry on-her-work.
IT WAS VOTED that the Village furnish her with a map at
Village expense, estimated-to amount to $1.60. Engineer Crandall
was requested-to have a,map printed-.
10. Upon receiving the account of unpaid taxes from the
Treasurer, comparing it with the original tax roll of the Village,
and finding it to be a true transcript thereof, the Board of Trustees
voted to sign the certification, in accordance with Section 126 -b
of the Village Law.
11. IT WAS VOTED that Mayor Kenerson be authorized-to appoint
three residents of the Village to act as a nominating,committee to
make nominations for a mayor and two trustees, to be.elected.in
place of Mayor Kenerson and Trustees Shirey and Scofield whose
terms expire.

12. IT WAS VOTED, RESOLVED: That according to the provisions
of Section 52 of the Village Law of the State of New York; a
Village election will be held on March 17, 1942 at the Schoolhouse
in the Village of Cayuga Heights, the polls to be open between
4:00 P.M. and 8 :00 P.M., at which time a mayor and two trustees
gill be elected in place of Mayor Kenerson and Trustees Shirey
and Scofield whose terms expire.
The Clerk was directed to cause a notice to be inserted in
The Ithaca Journal at least ten days prior to the election with
regard to the time and place of the election and the offices to be
filled, and to post a copy of the said notice in at least six
conspicuous public places in the Village giving the same information.
13. IT WAS VOTED that the annual meeting for the residents
of the Village to make nominations for mayor and trustees and to
consider the tentative budget for 1942 -43 be set for March 16th at
8:00 o'clock.
® 14'. IT WAS VOTED that the next meeting of the Village Trustees
be held on March 16th at 7:00 P.M.
15. IT WAS VOTED, RESOLVED: That in accordance with Section
102 of the Village Law the Treasurer be instructed to publish and
post his annual report or a summary thereof at least one week
prior to the annual election.
16. IT WAS VOTED that Paul Bradford be appointed auditor
of the Village books for the year ending Feb. 28, 1942.
17. IT WAS VOTED, RESOLVED: That in accordance with
Section 101 -b of the Village Law those appropriations showing
overdrafts be financed by transfers from unexpended balances of
other appropriations as set up in the budget. ..
