Treasurer Guise distributed'.copies: of .the-proposed., , budget for 'the year. 1939 -40 (see. page 37), and explained the various items therein.. 39.: MINUTES of the annual meeting of the residents of'the Village of Cayuga Heights held at the Schoolhouse at 8:15 P.M. on March.20, 1939., Mayor Baxter called the meeting to order at 8 :20 P.M.,. there being 21 persons present, and.upon motion Carl Crandall was elected Chairman of the meeting. J. B.`Trousdale was requested to act as Secretary. 1.•: Mayor. Baxter summarized the activities•of'the Board , for the.. past, year, mentioning that a second daily mail:delivery; had been obtained for the Village, which started onNovember.lst; that a new safe had been.puichased'in,accordance with' the•State. regula- tion s for the preservation of valuable Village records; that a new sidewalk had been constructed on Upland Road near,the,'School- house;'and a considerable_atretch of sidewalk -built on Hanshaw Road. He also briefly reviewed the ,financial.situation,.calling attention. to the substantial reduction in the amount of the debt. 2. Treasurer Guise distributed'.copies: of .the-proposed., , budget for 'the year. 1939 -40 (see. page 37), and explained the various items therein.. 40 5, ,Mr.,William.Robertson brought up the matter of repairs to Northway Road,Icalling attention to the fact that the large amount of construction on the street in the past two years had called for the digging up of the street many times for the purpose of laying utility pipes 6: Prof. Johnson spoke briefly. in favor of the proposed pathway construction on Triphammer Road. 7. Prof. Recknagel requested further.information regarding the spraying of trees and.the matter was,ekplalned by,Engineer Crandall. The proposed budget increased somewhat the allowance for spraying during the coming year. 8. Clarence Morse, acting in place of $enry Shirey:who was Chairman of the Nominating Committee, presented.the report of the committee which listed Sherman Peer and C': J. Kenerson as candidates to succeed themselves as Village Trustees for a period. of two years each. 9. Chairman Crandall called for further nominations, but none were made. 10. There being no further business, the meeting adjourned at 9:00 P.M. Secretary. u 1
