1. On this.date the•Board of Trustees sat-for four hours,
from 6 :00 to 10 :00 P.M. as a Board -of Assessors to hear grievances
and complaints.with regard:to the assessment roll , as: - prepared by
them for the year 19399 and as filed with the VillagetClerk on
Oct. 19th 1938_.:

The claimant appeared in person to object to the

WHEREAS :. The Village Board of Cayuga. Heights, acting as,.
Assessors.:of the said Village according ;to.`a
resolution previously
adopted, have prepared an assessment roll for.1939.and filed.it'in
duplicate with the Clerk of the Village
prior. to November 1, 1938 and `

WHEREAS The Clerk caused a notice to be published in the
official newspaper of the-Village and posted in five conspicuous
places in the Village before November 8, 1938 a notice that the
1939 assessment roll was filed at his residence; 102 Northway Road,
'Cayuga Heights, New York, where it might be seen until November 15,
1938 and
WHEREAS on the said 15th-day of November a Grievance Day was
held and the said Board met from 6:00 P.M. until 10 :00 P.M. on the
said day, several persons appearing and changes made as disclosed in
the minutes of the said Board; now-therefore be it
RESOLVED that the said assessment roll as now prepared and
verified with the assessors' oath be now completed, verified, and
ordered filed with the Clerk, in the total amount of $2,863,830, of
which #98,925 is exempt-from-taxation.
4. The meeting was adjourned.
MINUTES of a regular meeting of the Board of Trustees of the
Village of Cayuga Heights, held on Nov. 15, 1938 at 7:30 P.M. at
the Schoolhouse.

5. The Mayor reported that he had received a letter from the
postmaster stating that two deliveries of mail per day would now be
furnished for the Cayuga Heights territory, and that such service
was inaugurated-Nov. 1st.

6. Mayor Baxter read a letter which he had written to.G}dy
H. Brown, counsel for the Public.Service Commission of Albany 4
indicating that the Village not only approved of the bus service
on the Heights as furnished by the Ithaca Railway, but that officials; l

of the Village had- been working for some time- to bring, it about.
The Clerk was instructed to send the Ithaca•Railway two copies of the
Trustee action authorizing the buses to operate on-the Heights.
7. Mayor Baxter reported that many electric streetlights
had been broker- on Hallowe'en, and a-discussion•followed • as to steps
to be takerr in the future to prevent the destruction of Village
property on Hallowe'en night•.

9. Engineer Crandall reported that a,stop sign had been
purchased and placed on Oak Hill Road and that four Village limit
signs had been purchased and three placed; that the Morrison sewer
had been completed, leaving only five properties at the present time
unconnected as follows: McKinney, Durham, Fiske, Petry and O'Connell.
Engineer Crandall stated that the sidewalk on Hanshaw Road had
been completed from Cayuga Circle to Hillside Drive, except for one
short section which was to be left until spring to allow for
additional settling. He reported that the headwall work•was now.
about finished and that considerable work had been done in removing
leaves from gutters.
10. Engineer Crandall reported that violators of the Village
ordinance in regard to parking would be given an initial warning,
but on the second offense they would be taken-before Justice Stagg
and fined 05, and for the third offense would be fined $25.
IT WAS VOTED that Engineer Crandall be empowered to carry out
the above penalties in case of violators of the parking.ordinance.
11. The Clerk reported that the amendment to the parking
ordinance was being printed and a copy would be sent to all residents
in the Village as soon as the copies were received from the printer.
12. The next meeting was set for Dec. 12th at 7 :30 P.M.
13. Adjourned at 10 :40 P.M.
