Engineer Crandall •etated that a contract had now been let to connect the sewer' and the Clerk was instructed to write Prof. Mason to this'effect. 6. Mayor Baxter read a letter from Prof. Glenn Herrick in which he suggested that the Village consider the construction, of its own sewer system. Engineer Crandall pointed out that the present rates charged to the Village by the City:of Ithaca are only a fraction of what it would.cost the Village to operate its own independent disposal system, and furthermore that there is no indication as yet that the City intends to:increase the Village rates. 7.
