It was moved that the next village Board be recommended to pass
a village ordinance along the lines of the ordinance adopted by
the city of Ithaca limiting the sale of milk to pasteurized milk,
the milk to be sold in bottles only. Seconded and carried.
The nominating committee nominated Mr. Charles KenerBon and Mr.
S herman Peer as candidates for the office of village trustees.
The nominations were seconded. The nominations were dauftrud
closed and the candidates declared nominated.
The treasurer reported on the financial condition of the village
as of the end of the fiscal year, Feb 28, 1937. It was moved that
the financial report be received and ordered filed. Seconded and
carried.
G. I. Dale as trustee representative of the village Board reported
on and explained the tentative budget for the year March 11 1937 -
March 1, 1938.
It was moved that the Meeting recommend to the village Board that
the question of electric rates for street lighting be taken up
with the Gas and Electric Company, in order to see if some
adjWstment favorable to the village can be made. Seconded and
carried.
It was moved that a recommendation be made to the village Board
to offer to the City of Ithaca for fire service a $500.00 lump
sum xxxax=atatxtxgxfas per annum as a retaining fee, plus a
payment of $50.00 for each trip of the fire department to the
village, plus the $100.00 annual contribution to the firemen's fund;
such payments to be based on the village fiscal year March 1 -to
March 1. Seconded and carried.
It was moved that a recommendation be made to the village Board
to open negooiations with the Ithaca City Board of Public Works
in order to effect a reduction in the hydrant rental from $40.00
a year to $10.00 a year per hydrant, and to effect a reduction
in the water rate-from the present 1 1/2 rate to 1. Seconded
and carried.
It was moved that the village meeting approve the tentative
budget as presented to the meeting. Seconded and carried.
A suggestion was offered that attention might be given by the
village to the destroying of tent caterpillars in certain parts
of the village. No action was taken.
The meeting adjourned at 10;00 p. m.
