1. The minutes of.the Village--Board meeting of'February 9
and March 9, 1937 were read and by motion approved.
2. The minutes of the Public Meeting of Yerch.15; 1937,
were read and ordered filed for record in.the Minute Book.
3. The two new Trustees, -Mr'.- Sherman Peer. and Mr...,
Charles. J. Kenerson•were welcomed by'the Board. .,The:Acting,
Clerk reported that'at the Village non: partisan election of,
barch 16, 1937 there ballots in the
were six -cast, resulting
unanimous selection of the above two men, who.have now-each

signed and sworn to the Oath of Office, thereby completing ,
all qualifications to act as Trustees. It was further reported,
that Carl Crandall had executed the Oath of Office as Acting
Clerk.. All Oaths are filed with the records of the Clerk..
4. The following bills paid on order.of the Mayor were

15. The First National Bank of .Ithaca was designated,, as
the official 4epos,itory,of Village Fur. ds held by'the"Treasu`rer-
Collector during 1937 -38.
16. The Mayor was authorized to' secure a,'Suretyj:Bond
covering the Village .Treasurer- Collector-for._•1937 38. in the
amount of ,515,000. It was further direbted that the: :YGayvr '

17. Mr. J. B. Trousdale was "appointed"by the Board as.Clerk
for the balance.of the fiscal year,1937 -38, compensation to. be
at the'rate of $300;per,year,.:with,,the Clerk .paying his own•
stenographic and clerieal: costs.

20.:A resolution was:.adopted naming:Dr.,H. H, Crum:as'.the .
Village.Health Officer. for 1937-38.1

21. 'A' deed was submitted covering the conveyance-:to the Village .
by J..T. Newman and wife - -of that portion of Midway_ Road"lying "
within the Village. By motion the deed was ordered accepted. and the
Clerk was instructed to record the deed in ".the Codnty.Clerk's Office
and to notify Mr. Charles Newman of the acceptance.
22. The recommendation of the.Publie Meeting of',March 15,, 1937....
with respect to a Pasteurized Milk Ordinance was next considered by
the Board and the recommendation was duly approved.by. vote.. The
Board directed a Public: Hearing on the Pasteurized. Mil k.,Ordinance to
be held on Thursday„ April 29A 1937 at..the Schoolhouse from;'? 30 to.
9100 P.N.. The Clerk. was, instructed, to' advertise at, ,least once in; ".

The Ithaca Journal and to post notices in three places in the
' Village, using the following form:
"At a regular meeting of the Village Board of.Cayuga Heights,
Tompkins County, N. Y., acting as the.Board of Health of said
Village, of which all members have had due-notice, held on the
5th day of April 1937, at which were present the following'members:
H. E. Baxter, G.' I, Dale, Sherman Peer, and Charles J. Kenerson,
the following resolution was offered by -Trustee Dale, and seconded
by Trustee Peer:
"Pursuant to the authority granted-to this Board by the
provision of the Public Health Law constitution Chapter 45 of the
consolidated laws and amendments thereto and by Regulation 31 of
Chapter III of the State Sanitary Code, be it
• "Resolved: That an and after May 20, 1937, no milk or cream
as defined in Chapter III of the State Sanitary Code shall be
sold, dispensed,,or offered 'for sale in the Village of Cayuga
Heights other than 'Grade A Pasteurized', and to be sold in
bottles only. Any violation of the above provisions shall ,
constitute a misdemeanor, punishable by a fine of not in ezoess
of $100 for each offense.'
E. Baxter, Mayor, called for a vote on this resolution,'
resulting in unanimous approval by all Trustees present and the
resolution was thereupon declared by said Mayor as adopted.

I, J. B. Trousdale, Clerk of the Board of Health of the
Village of Cayuga Heights, hereby certify that I have compared
the foregoing with the original resolution adopted by said Board
on the 5th day of April 1937, now on file in my office, and'find
the same to be a true copy and the whole thereof.

A Public Hearing on the above ordinance will be held at
the Village Schoolhouse from 7:30 to 9:00 P.M. on Thursday,
April 29, 1937."

23. The Board considered the recommendation of the Public
Meeting of March 15, 5937 with respect to.Street Lighting Rates
and by motion Trustee Peer was designated as a coemmittee of one

to confer with.the.,New`York:State Electrie:and'Gas..Corporati,on,
as to the possibility, of securing a reduction from the pre$ent
cost of about ?1664 per annum.
24. The.Boatd next considered'the recommendation of -the
:Public Meetirig ..c.fi Mirch.'15, ;1937 Yith respect •ao Fire Service
Charges. By motion; 'the recommendation .:was,. approved ;and the`, Cleric

instructed to ',' transmit the detail of the .Offer': _to James E
Matthews, City ".Clerk.(For details see Minutes'of Public Meeting).
A connittee consisting of Messrs. Dale, Kenerson, and Crandall was
appointed to .follow up any. further, negotiations with the City on'
this matter.'
'25.'The Board then considered the recommendation,of the Public
Tleeting of'N. arch 1 1 5,i, 1937 relative: to Water Service Rates. By
motion, the recommendation was approved and the Clerk was'instructed
to'write to James E. Matthews, City' Clerk requesting.a conference
with the City Board of Public Works on•this matter. A Committee,
consisting of Messrs. Dale, Kenerson, and.Crandall was.appointed to

negotiate with the City on the matter of Water Service,Rates.
26. Consideration was ,then given to the suggestion from ,the
Public Meeting of TWFiroh 15th concerning control of Tent Caterpillars.
A motion was ..adopted authorizing the Engineer to have'.the street
trees sprayed this season at a cost of not in excess of $200.,

28. By motion the Village,, Clerk was, instructed'to.supply*.

Board Meetings, in addition..to,preparing " and..similarly. supplying
a',typewritten schedule`of. routine Village business for thetyear,',
including :proce'dure. for, adoption `of ordinances,.,.and other
pertinent information of.a regular.and.standardized nature.,<
29. The Engineer was authorized to., employ the necessary
foreman, truck, and laborers for'the current year, at. a rate of
not over 50 cents per hour for common labor; .the foreman to, "be.
paid 60 cents per hour for his time plus 50 cents.per hour, for
his truck.
30. The Board instructed the Engineer..to request the.New
York State Electric and Gas Corporation to move such poles:as ..
are close to sidewalks and interfere with operation of.the side-
walk snowplow.
31. .A, complaint was reported from Mr. Jerome, Fried'ielative.;
to the flood channel of the creek opposite his residence .'on''
Cayuga :Heights Road. The Engineer, was: instructed to remedy, this .
matter providing,no, great expenditure of,.money is involved,':'

34. Trustee :Kenerson..made -a progress re port .for the. Village
Committee on. Buses., .The Committee was requested to continue
negotiations.
