Minutes of the Village Board. Various papers in Mr. Crandall's files, We checked the receipts due to the Village as shown by the Tax Rolls from Dec. 27, 1927 which was the time Mr. Simmons took office, up to February 1932, the date of our last village audit by Mr. Trousdale. During this period'we found several audits having been made by a Mr. .C, A. Brewer as well as a note in the Minutes of 4 aN4examination having been made by a representative of the State Comptroller's office about March 1, 1929. We also examined and checked the receipts due to.the. Village from special assessments such as: ' Upland Road Curb and'Street Improvements SRwer assessments and rentals Water contributions . Triphammer Road water assessment, permits, etc... May 289 1934. To the Mayor and Board of above Village: Your committee met at the office of Engineer Carl Crandall May 24, 1934, and checked the accounts of -L:N. Simmons, former Clerk and Collector'of the Village. As sources of information vie used Records of the Treasurer.. Minutes of the Village Board. Various papers in Mr. Crandall's files, We checked the receipts due to the Village as shown by the Tax Rolls from Dec. 27, 1927 which was the time Mr. Simmons took office, up to February 1932, the date of our last village audit by Mr. Trousdale. Triphammer Road water assessment, permits, etc... 20 From these above mentioned sources of revenues we find that tiie receipts that' should have been or were collected by Mr. Simmons balanced withamounts shown in the Treasurarts Reports as having been turned over to him. by Mr, Simmons and we find no evidence of unaccounted for differences bf any consequence. IT, WAS ;VOTED THAT the Report. of .'the Aiidi't Committee be. accepted, placed on file in,the minutes,. and approved; and further that the Mayor be d- irectod to sign.the following statement.in regard to L. N. Simmons; former clerk of the Village, P acting.as Collector) ^THIS CERTIFIES that L. N' Simmons no longer holds the office of Clerk of.Village of Cayuga,Hlts..and that his accounts were entirely.correbt, to the'best of my.knowledge and belief, up to the time he left office. Dated: Name Position . 5. A general discussion.was then held in regard to tax delin- quency. The Treasurer.of. the Village reported generally with regard to tax collection. 6. IT,WAS VOTED to direct the Treasurer to send a letter to delinquent tax payers notifying them that at the next time for the sale of property, their property would be sold in the.event of further delinquency. 70 IT WAS VOTED to direct the .Clerk to send to the. Treasurer a copy of the letter sent to nori- residents of the •Village in.re -. gard to contiibuti.ons far the development,of the water supply. S. IT, WAS VOTED to direct the 1%yor, the Treasurer and the Clerk. (Prior to adjounment, the Clerk reported.that Mr. E. B. REGULAR MEETING OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE.OF.CAYUGA HEIGHTS held at the School House in the said Village on September 10, 1934. PRESENT: A. J. HEINICKE, Mayor. H. E. BAXTER, Trustee G. I. Dale, Trustee A. D. SEYMOUR, Jr. Trustee L. C. PRO.TCHARD, Trustee. CARL CRANDALL, Engineer. I. In the absence of the Clerk, H. E. Baxter,•Trustee, was appointed Secretary of the meeting. Z. The Mayor announcedlthe purpose bf the meeting`to be.the con- sideration of a proposal that the Village cooperate with the Tomp 'kins County Development b0drd by authorizing certain permanent impeovements, particularly sidewalk'construction.' At'the request' ' of the Mqyar, the Engineer explained in detail the proposed construction. estimating •the new sidewalks required at between twelve and thirteen 22 thousand ldnear feet, and the.repair or reconstruction of , V existing walks at'two thousand'linear feet,;; Of:.the.toial,cost`of approximately ,$1.00 afoot, the villaga would psy :25 %, the balance being paid. IT WAS DIILY,VOTED (Motion by Pritchardl,- Trustee): to appoint and retain Sohn W. MacDonald,_Esq., as attorney for the Village ' of Cayuga Heights in the.matter of a bond issue to refund the " existing certificates.of indebtedness, the fee to be within.the amount set forth in the budget for this purpose.. 5. The matter of additional street lights• was• discussed, but no action was taken. 6. Trustee Seymour proposed the following.resolution, and.moved. its adoption. (Seconded by Trustee,'Dale): Resolved, that the Hoard of Trustees of the Village of.. Cayuga Heights Act as assessors for the said village'',: for 1934 -35. On a.vote, the Mayor,.Heinicke, declared the Resolution duly adopted. 7. .IT WAS VOTED to. authorize the. engineer,, -within the appropriation sat forth in. the bud & ot, -such signs as may b,a necessary to comply with the state law regarding speed limits withitt:ihe.'Villege.;'. 8. 'The %reasurer. presented his financial report d6lted.4uly 23 ," 1934. 23 (This is filed in the office of the Clerk, in the folder hedded, REPORTS OF THE TREASURER) 9. IT WAS VOTED to authorize the engineer to order the repair of two existing fire hydrants and the installation of one new hydrant, the latter to be located on Sunset.Drive as'indicated on the'map presented by the Engineer. 10. IT WAS VOTED to direct the Treasurer to pay Mr. C. R.' Dixon. $4.75,'as a refund due'in connection with overpayment. of sewer assessment. (See letter from Treasurer of July 10, 1934). 11.
