g. The following resolution relative to the contract.for,,street
lighting for the Village of Cayuga Heights was unanimously adopted
.RESOLVED : That a contract be made with The New York
State Electric & Gas Corporation, a corporation already
having the consent of the Village Board for the construc-
tion and maintenance of an electric plant in said Village
for the lighting of the streets, avenues, highways, public
places, and public buildings in said Village, the lighting
of said streets, avenues and.highways to be as, specified
in the contract; but said contract shall provide that the
Village Board may from time to time require and the company
shall furnish additional lamps at the rates specified in
the contract, and said contract to be made for the period,
of ten years from this date, and that the Mayor and Village
Clerk be authorized to execute said contract on behalf of
the Village Board.
RESOLVED FORTHER, That said contract shall hereby
cancel and supersede the contract previously made and
dated the 1st day of August, 1923, except as to rights and
obligations already accrued by virtue of the contract of
August 1, 1923:
5. Professor Matheson appeared on behalf of the City and reported
on the work being done in connection with the extermination and
control of mosquitoes in the City and.adjacent territory.
6. The attached financial report of the Clerk was.received,
audited and ordered placed in the record.
7. It was duly moved and carried that the,Treasurer. pay the sum
of $6,000. on the indebtedness of the Village represented by short
term certificates of indebtedness.
8. Professor J. W. MacDonald was retained as attorney for the
Village to attend the hearings and protect the interests of said
Village at such hearings as may be held in connection with-the
accident caused-by the reckless driving of J. T..Mann'and occurring
at the intersection of Cayuga Heights Road and Renwick Heights Drive.
9. Engineer Crandall and the Clerk of the Village.were'requested
to draft .an ordinance providing for a speed limit•in the.Village of
Cayuga Heights and.presented at the'next meeting of the Board for

4. The resignation of Treasurer A. J. Heinicke was presented,
and accepted and the Clerk requested to send a letter.of apprecia-
tion to Professor Heinicke for the services which.he_ has rendered
to the Village in the past.
5. Prof. C. H. Guise was duly appointed Treasurer of the..
Village of Cayuga Heights for the remainder of the year,and the
Clerk was authorized to arrange to secure the necessary bond.for
the new Treasurer:
6. There was a detailed discussion of the unpaid taxes and

RESOLVED : That the Clerk be and hereby is instructed
to take any and all necessary legal action to collect all
taxes more than six months in arrears.
7.. The matter of the construction of Triphammer Road was
discussed and the Engineer requested to secure details of the
cost thereof from the County Superintendent of Highways.

garbage with Mr. Charles Mosher on the same basis as that of
last year:
9. The Village Engineer was authorized to purchase the
necessary street signs for Kline Road and Parkway Place.

4. Engineer Crandall reported that Superintendent Vann would
furnish a detailed statement of the cost of Triphammer Road for
the records.
5. It appearing from a computation that an error had occurred
in making up the budget for the year 1933 -34 in that -the item of
Sewer Rentals amounting to $2090.10 had been inadvertently placed
in the item for Sewer and Curb Assessments, it was
RESOLVED : That.the minutes of the meeting of the Board
of Trustees of April 17, 1933 be corrected by changing the
item in the budget therein contained and designated as .
111933 payments on Sewer and Curb Assessmentst' from $10,971.96
to $8,881.86, and by changing the Contingency Fund from
$4,719.72 to $2,629.62 and making the total of said budget
$292294.62.
6. After discussion i was

® RESOLVED : That the books of the Treasurer and
Clerk for the Village be audited and that the
Clerk be and hereby is authorized to make the
necessary arrangements to secure such audit.
7. The Mayor was authorized to appoint a committee, of which
he himself should be a member, to arrange for the installation
of additional lights in the Village of Cayuga Heights, such
committee to have power to install such number of lights as in
its discretion may seem proper. In accordance with this
authority the following committee was appointed : Trustee
Stevens, Chairman; Engineer Crandall and Mayor Maynard.
B. Upon.motion duly made and seconded the following
ordinance was adopted by the Board and the Clerk instructed
to make the necessary publication thereof :
PARKING AND TRAFFIC REGULATIONS
Section 1. SPEED OF MOTOR VEHICLES. No person shall ride,
drive or cause to be propelled any au t W, motorcycle or
a� other vehicle on any public street o e Village of
Cayuga Heights at a rate of speed greater than twenty -five
miles an hour.
' Violation of this ordinance shall constitute disorderly
conduct and any person violating the same shall be deemed a
disorderly person and shall be punishable by a fine not exceed-
ing 0100.00 for each offense.
Section 2. PARKING VEHICLES. (a) No person shall park
any vehicle or permit the same to be parked or stand within
the traveled way of any public street or road in the Village
of Cayuga Heights, New York, at any time in such a manner
as to unduly obstruct the street or endanger the traffic
thereon.
(b) No vehicle shall be permitted to stand within the
limit of any public street or road in the Village of Cayuga
Heights, New York, from one -half hour after sunset until one -
half hour before sunrise, without displaying on said vehicle
one red light to the rear and two white or yellow lights to
the front.
(c) No vehicle shall be permitted to stand within the
property lines of any public street, road or park in the
Village of Cayuga Heights, New York, between the hours of
1;30 A.M. and 6 A.M. for a longer period than one hour,
provided, however, that this restriction shall not apply
to vehicles of the Ithaca Fire Department, public service
corporations or duly licensed physicians while the same
' are being used in the performance of official or professional
duties.
Violation of this ordinance shall constitute disorderly,

conduct and any person violating the same shall be deemed
a disorderly person and shall be punishable by a fine not
exceeding $50.00 for each offense.

1. The minutes of the last previous meeting were read and
approved.
2. The Clerk was requested to have copies of the new parking
and traffic regulation ordinances printed in such form that they
may be used for giving notice to the violators,of the ordinances.
3. The matter of speed limit signs £or. the Village was laid
on the table for discussion at the next regular meeting.

5. After discussion concerning unpaid Village taxes it was
RESOLVED : That the Treasurer of said Village be and
hereby is.authorized to take such action as may be
necessary for the sale of the J. C. Nicholls, C..L.
Durham and J.F. and E.D. Daley properties located within
the Village of Cayuga Heights.for the non - payment of.
taxes if said taxes are not paid on or before December lst. ,
e6. The Clerk was requested to notify other tax delinquents
that the taxes due must be paid on or before January 1st, 1934.
7. The Clerk was authorized to pay to the County of Tompkins
the sum of $3,000.,toward the cost of Triphammer Road as provided
for in the budget, and the.matter of the payment of $1,000. in
addition was laid on.the table until the regular December meeting
of the Board.
8. The following report relative to the cost of additional
lights in the Village of Cayuga Heights was presented by the
Committee on Lighting and a recommendation made by it that item
No. l in the report be included in the Budget for the Village
for the year 1934, and that items,2, 3 and 4 also be presented
to the general meeting of the citizens of the Village to be held
prior to the general election for the year 1934, it being under-
stood that, the 8lectric & Gas Corporation will assume all expense,
of installation of the lights as designated in the report :

Cayuga

among the'taxpayers.as well.as.greatly increase the:amount.of
light
on every street..

early date.

This report of the Committee was approved and accepted.
9. It was moved and carried that a hearing be called to consider
the building of a sewer for tenefit of the property in the
Village west of Cayuga Height ,ka the date of the next regular meet-
ing of the Hoard, this hearing to be for the benefit of those property
owners only who are concerned with the building of this sewer.
10. A report on the work for the control of mosquitoes in and
around the City of Ithaca was received and ordered placed on file.

Clerk
The Trustees of the Village met for the four -hour period
from 7 P.M. to 11 P.M. for hearing complaints on the assessment
roll as prepared by them for the year 1934. Complaints were
received concerning the Albree property, J. R. Johnson property
and the Harriet M. Libby pro erty, and the assessment on the
Albree property was reduced 2,000., the Johnson property $1,000.
and on the Libby property no reduction was granted.
