1. The minutes.of the last previous.meeting.were:'read:and
approved.

® 2. The bill of Elizabeth M. Faber, 39 hrs. stenographic
services @ $.50, total $19.50, was approved.
3. A letter was presented from Mr. Sherwood Holt concerning
the moving of one of the existing hydrants to a point to come
within 500 feet of properties located on Sunset Drive. During the
discussion Engineer Craddall advised that if the hydrant was moved
as suggested it would take other properties out of the 500 foot
zone. The Mayor•was accordingly requested to advise Mr. Holt that
the moving of the hydrant as suggested by him would not be a
solution of the problem.
4. The Engineer gave a verbal report on the highway work for
the season.
5. Engineer Crandall reported that under the authority heretofore I
granted.him he had continudd negotiations for the purchase of a parcel
of land from Mrs. Emily E. Sheldon as a site for a proposed stand pipe
to be constructed for the purpose of supplementing the present Village
water supply, and had secured from Mrs. Sheldon a land contract duly
executed by her, by the terms of which she agrees to convey a certain
tract of land of approximately four acres to the Village of Cayuga
Heights upon payment by the Village to the Ithaca Trust Company of
the sum of $400. as a reduction on the mortgage held by said Trust
® Company on the property owned by Mrs. Sheldon of which the parcel
in question is a part, and that under the terms of the contract it
is agreed that, if at any time within five years from the date thereof,
Mrs. Sheldon shall reimburse the Village in the amount of $400.
together with interest thereon at the rate of 5% said-Village shall
grant to her the right to connect her remaining property with the
Village water system. After discussion it was
RESOLVED : That the Mayor be and hereby is authorized to
execute on behalf of the Village a contract for the purchase of
approximately four acres of land from Mrs. Emily E. Sheldon as
described on a map entitled flLand to be acquired by the Village of
Cayuga Heights from Emily E. Sheldonfl, prepared by Carl Crandall,
C.E., under date of June 10, 1932, and that the Clerk of said
Village be and hereby is authorized to attest said contract and
attach thereto the corporate seal of the Village, and it was
FURTHER RESOLVED : That the Village Engineer be and hereby
is authorized to have prepared by the Office of the County Clerk
of the County of Tompkins an abstract of title, in duplicate, cover-
ing the property described in said contract together with a deed of
said property and a release of part of the mortgaged premises, which
release is to be executed by the Ithaca Trust Company upon payment
of the $400. hereinbefore mentioned, and 'it was
FURTHER RESOLVED : That upon the approval of the Clerk of
the Village, acting as attorney therefor, of the title of the
parcel of land herein referred to and the approval of the deed
and other papers connected therewith, the Mayor of said Village
is authorized to order payment of the aforesaid $400. to the

Ithaca Trust Company and on behalf of the Village to accept the
deed to the parcel of land set forth on the map as hereinbefore
stat d:
6. The committee heretofore appointed to carry on negotiations
with the Town Assessors for an equalization of the assessments of
the Town and the Village was authorized to proceed with its
negotiations and investigations.
7. Engineer Crandall was authorized to provide sectional maps
of the sewer system as required by the City of Ithaca, .the cost
thereof to be met from the appropriations for sewer maintenance
as,necessary, up to an amount not in excess of $300.'
B. A copy of a letter from Dr.,Crum, Healta Officer of the
Village, forwarded to the State Commissioner of Health, was
presented and ordered placed on file.

9. The matter of speeding on the Parkway:-was discussed and'
the Engineer authorized to install "Slow"-signs at the intersection
of E. Upland Road and the Parkway.
10. The Clerk was requested to send a bill to the M. M. Reynolds
Company for damage done to E.-Upland Road due to the driver of one
of the trucks cleaning.-mud on the newly surfaced Upland Road.'
11. Petty cash funds for $50..for the Village.Engineer and -$25.
for the Village;Clerk were duly authorized. I .
