Maynard, Mayor W. A. Hagan, Trustee J. J. Dall, Jr., Trustee E. H. Wanzer, Trustee This meeting was held for the purpose of discussing the question of building a didewalk on Hanshaw Road. The following citizens of the Village were present: Mrs. Libby, Mr. and Mrs. Finlayson, Mr. and Mrs. C. E. Cornell, Mr. Blanche, Mrs. Perkins, Mrs. Stevens, Mrs. Barstow. 1. The Clerk reported the action of the Trustees concerning the building of this walk.. 2. Engineer Carl Crandall discussed the relative merits of a walk constructed on the east side of the street as compared to one constructed on the west. The general sentiment of thosepresent appeared to be that a walk was not necessary on Hanshaw Road. Adjourned. The minutes of the last previous meeting were read and approved. 2 Bids for the improvement of Upland Road were received and after discussion it wa-s! RESOLVED: That the contract for the work on Upland Road be granted to Wilson Barger, the low bidder, for the sum of , contingent upon his furnishing of a 224 satisfactory bond. This contract is to be exclusive of the furnishing and applying of /— the necessary asphalt dressing. 3. Engineer Carl Crandall reported that the State was to resurface Cayuga Heights Road with a retread top and that the authorities in charge of the work had agreed to 'increase the width of the road to LV— feet provided the Village would furnish the necessary stone find asphalt for the extra width and an appropriation of $2,500. or so much thereof as may be necessary was made to cover the cost of this stone and asphalt and Engineer Carl Crandall authorized to purchase the same. 4. The construction of a sidewalk on Hanshaw Road was indefinitely postponed. 5. After discussion it was voted that the Mayor should be requested to make an investigation of the finances of the Village with a view to determining the advisability or necessity of a new bond issue. He was authorized to call upon any one whom he might desire to assist him in this work and was requested to make recommendations to the Board at a later meeting. 6. Milton Batchelor, Tree Survey ----- - - - - -- 127.20 8. The Mayor was authorized to appoint a committee to make recommendations for the planting development in the streets of the Village. Catheson communication was received from Prof. Robert Matheson in on with the sewer assessment on his property and after discussion it was voted as the opinion of the Board that ssment of $178.50 on his property was fair and correct.(It ble that should any difficulty be experienced by Prof. in securing a right of way to hi s property to the main sewer line, that the Village would have to secure such right of Kay for him.)
