The minutes of the last previous meeting were read and approved. 2. L. N: Simmons via appointed Clerk of the Village for the ensuing year at a salary.of $300.00 a year. 3. A. J. Heinicke was appointed Treasurer,of the Village for the ensuing year.' 4. Carl Crandall was appointed Engineer of the.Village for the ® ensuing year: 5. E. H. Wanzer was appointed Acting Mayor for. the ensuing year in the absence of Mayor Maynard. 6. It was RESOLVED : That the Ithaca Journal News be and hereby is designated as the official newspaper of the Village of_Cayuga, Heights. 7. It was RESOLVED: That.the Board of Trustees.of the Village of Cayuga Heights act as the Assessors therefor for the•fiscal. year. 1931 -32. S. The Mayor reported that difficulties had been encountered for the securing of a place for the dumping of garbage for the Village and that he had made arrangements with Mr. Mosher to take it to his farm for the summer and this action was approved. 12. Trustee Dell was requested to obtain an estimate on the cost of opening a road through the old country club property and to find out whether the owners of the adjoining property would be willing to join in opening a street as reserved on the maps of that territory. 13. Engineer Carl,NCrpndall was requested to stake out a proposed sidewalk on Wyckoff Ae and to furnish the Trustees at the next meeting with an estimate of the cost of such a walk. 14. The Clerk presented the request of Miss Walbridge ,.12.00, that in view of 216 the fact that she had sold a portion of her lot that the Trustees, should make'a division of the assessment both for Village taxes and for sewer assessment, owing to the fact that both assessments had been made and published it was the sense of the,.Board that no changes could•now be legally made. 5. A petition requesting that the construction of a sewer along Sunset Drive be deferred was presented together with a letter from Mr. Jared T. Newman stating.that',there appeared to be.no necessity for the construction of that sewer at the present .time. After discussion it was decided that a public hearing should be held.on the question at the next regular meeting of ,the Board of'Trustees and the Clerk "was instructed to notify all parties concerned of such hearing. 6. A general discussion concerning the repair,and construction of the roads and streets of the Village-was held. 7. Engineer Carl Crandall was authorized to complete maps of the Village in accordance with the recommendations contained in his letter to Mayor W. L. Williams under date of January•19, 1929, J 7 8. Engineer -Carl Crandall was authorized to obtain.a survey of the location of trees and shrubs in the streets of the Village. 9. Engineer Carl Crandall was authorized,to check up the title to the streets of the Village and prepare a map of such streets in , accordance with the recommendations contained in.his letter of., January 19, 1929, addressed to Mayor W. L. Williams.. - 10. The Clerk was authorized to check the matter of assessments as between the Village and the Town assessments and to file a.protest'with the State Tax Department on the tax equalization rate if such check -up indicates the desirability of such procedure. 11. It was recommended that the Mayor request from the Town Assessors the privilege of having a committee of three meet with the town assessors with a view to determining if the assessments made by-the town.assessors and those made by the Village assessors cannot be brought more closely in accord. 12.
