Minutes- 10/30/1930196 Regular Meeting of the Board of Trustees t. of the Village of Cayuga.Heights held on at the School House in said Village on the 30th .,day of October, 1930. Present L. A. The Treasurer was requested to check the cost of the•operation of the -truck used by William Barnes in the work of the Village and report the same,at the next regular meeting of the Board. 3..' The following bills paid on the order of the Mayor were approved -GENERAL FUND L. V. The Clerk.of.the Village was requested to take-up with the New York State Electric & Gas.Corporation the matter of changing the lights on Cayuga Heights Road near the northerly boundary of the Village . to a pole a little farther to.the,'north. 6. The matter of negotiating with the New York State•Electric and Gas Corporation:for slower rtLte-for.etrcet lighttiforr�the Village was referred to the Clerk, with power: 7. The following letter was presented tlOctober 24;` 1930. , Judge C.'H..Blood, 109 -111 N.'Tioga St., Ithaca, N. Y. My dear Judge,Blood The Board of Public Works has authorized the Water Committee to act in connection with your request to be.. permitted ,to extend the water main in Renwick Drive!.to.the north from the N. W.'corner of the,John Young property to the Remington Road, as set forth in your letter of September 2nd. The Water Committee understands that this extension is not out of harmony with the policy adopted by the Board some time ago and grants your request with the usual conditions imposed that :.the material.used, the construction, the, valving, etc. be in accordance with the practice of the City and meet with the approval of the Superintendent of the Water Department of the City; also that an accurate map of the construction be filed with the Board,of Public Works, as soon as the work,is finished. Copy of this letter is being sent to the President of the Village of Cayuga Heights in recognition of the right of the Village to refuse extensions to its main. Very truly yours, (Signed) W. M. Sawdon, Chairman Water Commistiofierslf In connection with the above letter it was.voted.as the sense of the Board that no further extension of water service outside the limits of the Village where such service utilizes:the Village mains as a part of the distributing system can be approved and.the Clerk was requested to send a copy of the resolution passed by. the Board of Trustees on the 30th.day of.June, 1930, to.Judge;C..H. Blood.and' to Professor W. M. Sawdon, Chairman of the Water Commissioners, for the City of Ithaca. 8. A notice from the New York State.Insurance Fund advising.the • Village of'the forthcoming dividends on its Workmen1s.Compensation insurance policy was received. 9. The matter of having the streets of the Village put in proper condition for the Winter was referred to Engineer Carl Crandall with a request that he take up with the sewer contractor the matter of filling all holes of the streets and the removing of all dangerbus:-places therein so far as it is possible to do so. In this connection particular attention was called to the present condition of Upland Road, Wyckoff Road, Hanshaw Road, the intersection of Highland Road and Hanshaw Road; Cayuga Heights Road in front of the Walters property and Kline Road. The Engineer was also requested to give particular attention to the damage caused by the contractor to properties adjoining the streets in which he has been operating. One instance of such damage being the breaking of several slabs of the sidewalk adjoining the premises of Prof. A. J. Heinicke. 10. A letter was received from Mr. C. E. Cornell concerning the discharge of surface water from Highland Road onto his property and the matter was referred to Engineer Carl Crandall to determine whether the water complained of was from a natural water course or from an artificial ditch constructed for drainage purposes from the street. 11. The matter of placing a street sign at the corner of Parkway Plal and The Parkway was referred to the Clerk with power., 12. The payment of an additional sum up to $10,500. on the sewer contract was approved such payment to be.made only upon the certificate of the Engineer of the Village. Adjourned L. LL. N.
