Adjourned Regular Meeting of the Board.
of Trustees of the 'pillage of
Cayuga Heights held on the 8th
.day of December, 1930.

1. The minutes of the last regular meeting of the Board were
read and approved.
2. Mr. Charles H. Blood was present and stated that his request
for an extension of the water system beyond the corporate limits of
the Village was due to the fact that he had entered into contract
for the new territory which he had opened whereby he had agreed to
furnish water and gas to the purchasers of property from him, and
if the Village refused to grant permission for such extension he
would find himself in a.very embarrassing situation and would be
pressed to take legal action for the interpretation-of the contract
entered into by himself and Mr. Jared T. Newman whereby the water
mains were turned over to the Village of Cayuga Heights subject to
such conditions.
Mr. Blood also stated that this would be the only extension
he would reo_uest and that.if this was granted he would be willing
to remove all other conditions contained in the above mentioned
contract.
After discussion a committee consisting of the Mayor, and
Trustee Whiteside was appointed to confer with Mr. Blood and Mr.
Newman and report to the Trustees.
In this connection a letter was also presented from Mr.
Newman requesting the privilege of appearing before the Board to
state his reasons for the request of the extension of .the water main.
3. Upon presentatiorybf the certificate from the Village Engineer,
� Carl Crandall, the payment of the sum of $5,800. to James Passero oe
Sons, Inc., contractors for the new sewer system, was authorized.
4. The following bills were approved and ordered paid :

5. A bill was presented from the City of Ithaca. covering the replacement
of a hydrant.on Upland Road.and Highland Avenue together with labor and
materials used-amounting . to•$74:15. Upon the approval by the Engineer,
Carl Crandall, this bill was ordered.paid.
6. The following,bills.paid on the approval of.the,Mayor were approved

7. A special meeting o£.the Board of Trustees was called for 7:30 P.M.
December 15th for the consideration of the question of the extension of the
water main outside. the village:
8. A complaint was received from W. C. Geer concerning the condition
of Highland Road north of the intersection of,.Hanshaw Road. This complaint'
was referred to Engineer Carl Crandall with power.:
9. In compliance with a request made.of Treasurer Hai nicke at the last
meeting he reported that there had been :expanded : the sum:of,$208.50 for,
the.. use of the truck owned by William Barnes and 5$236,.23 for gas and oil
since the first day of March, 1930.

The'attention of the Board of Public.Works has been celled
to the. fact. .that at some., time .a 20 galvanized pipe has•been used. to
extend the`water'service in Wyckoff Road west of.OVerlook..
This'extension having been made without the knowledge or
consent of the Board and in, violation. of the Rules = &"Regulations,
the Board.has directed me:to advise the Village, of their disapproval
of such . an`. eftension .
The Board suggests that this extension should be renlaced
by a main of "proper size suitable for Hydrant service.at'an eerly
date..

1. Mr. Jared T. Newman appeared before the Board and stated his t✓
understanding of the agreement entered into between Charles H..Blood
and Jared T. Newman and the Village of Cayuga Heights iunder date of .'
February 5th, 1925, wherein certain rights were reserved to the said
Blood and Newman. Mr.. Neiwian also stated that at.- the present time he
was interested in extensions to the northerly of.the Village limits,
but that he had arranged.by his will to release .any and all of his
rights in and to the water mains of the Village upon his.death.'•(He
also stated the sizes of the Village's water mains in the,Village
as follows ;)

J2. The Mayor and Trustee Whiteside reported the result of their
conference with Mr. Blood.and recommended that if it could be worked
out satisfactorily that permission should be granted him for the
