M: Wiegand, Acting Mayor L. P.' Wilson;.-Trustee E. H. Wanzer, Trustee A. J. Heinicke, Treasurer 15.5: 1. The minutes of the last previous meeting of the Board were read and approved. 2. Mr. Jared T. Newman appeared before the Board and discussed V/ the question of.the Village consenting to a further extension of the water line beyond the limits of the Village. Incidental to this the question of the building of a standpipe somewhere in or near the Village was also discussed. After a rather lengthy discussion definite action on both these matters was postponed until a later meeting of the Board. 3. It was voted to request Professor Carl Crandall to be present at the next meeting of the Board and report on the plans for sewage disposal west of Cayuga Heights Road. 4. A letter from Professor Robert Matheson concerning the ' assessed valuation of his property was read and the Clerk requested to give the Mayor necessary information to enable him to',answer this - letter. 5. The matter of requesting the construction of a sidewalk along the property owned by Mr. R. H. Williams on Hanshaw Road was discussed but no action taken. I I . 8. The question of improving a portion of Renwick Road in front of the property owned by James McKinney was referred to Prof. Carl Crandall for investigation and report. t 157 9. The installation of an electric light in Sunset Park was authorized. 10. The bill of the M. E. Moran Company for oiling the streets of the Village had not as yet been received, but payment thereof was approved upon receipt of the bill and the approval thereof by Prof. Crandall and Acting Mayor Wiegand. 11. Trustee Wilson was requested to prepare an ordinance providing for the installation of lead pipe from the main water line to the stop box in all cases where connections are hereafter made to the main water supply line. 12. The bill of Dr. H. H. Crum for services as health officer for the year 1928 in the amount of S 5 ' —o was approved and ordered paid. Adjourned Present : Village Clerk Regular Meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Village of Cayuga Heights, held on August 12th, 1929. K. M. Wiegand, Acting Mayor E. H. Wanzer, Trustee H. E. Whiteside, Trustee A. J. Heinicke, Treasurer, Carl Crandall, Engineer. Mr. Jerome Fried was also present and took part in the discussion of the plans for the construction of a sewer system west of Cayuga Heights Road. 1. The Mayor was authorized to advise Mr. R. W. Sailor in reply to a letter received from him, that 'the Village had no funds available for re- oiling Triphammer Road and it was suggested that the Mayor also call to his attention the fact that the en no contributions made either by the Country Club or Tow�yffi -Ae work that had been done so far. 2. The matter of repairing the gutter on Wyckoff'Road west, of Highland Road was referred to Carl Crandall, Engineet, with power and authority to spend not more than $300. ` 3. The Clerk was requested to write a letter to property owners 158 in the Village calling their attention to the ordinance providing for the cutting of grass and weeds along the streets and asking their cooperation in keeping the streets clear in accordance with the requirements of this ordinance. 4. A report was received from Engineer Carl Crandall stating that a count of the hydrants in the Village had been made and that there were thirteen hydrants in the Village. 6. The Clerk reported on the proposition of lighting Sunset Park and the matter of deciding whether ordinary lighting should be installed or boulevard lighting was referred to a committee consisting of Engineer Carl Crandall and the Clerk of the Village with power. 7. Report was made of a notice received from the State Insurance Fund advising that a payment of a dividend of 15% would be made in connection with Workmen's Compensation policy No. 23013. 8. Engineer Carl Crandall presented a report on a proposed sewer provision for the district west of Cayuga Heights'Road in the Village of Cayuga Heights and it was resolved that the tentative sanitary sewer plan for the 'Village of Cayuga Heights heretofore prepared by Engineer Carl Crandall be amended to include a pump station and force main on or near Renwick Drive for serving residents west of the Cayuga Heights Road in accordance with a report rendered the Board of Trustees under date of August 12th, 1929,which report isrfiled with the Clerk of the Village. 9. A committee consisting of Acting Mayor Wiegand, Trustee ' Wanzer and E:,4gineer Carl Crandall was appointed with power to 'negotiate and determine upon an agreement to be executed by and 1 159 between the City of Ithaca and the Village of Cayuga Heights for the disposal of the sewage from the Village of Cayuga Heights and this committee was also authorized to negotiate with Cornell University for a lease or deed of a portion of the property of Cornell Univer- sity west of Cayuga Heights Road for the location of the pumping. station proposed in the amended server plan ., Adij ourned Present : Regular Meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Village of Cayuga Heights, held on September 9th,1929. The matter of securing house to house delivery of mail for the Village was referred to the Mayor with power. 7. Upon motion duly made and seconded that portion of the street now designated as Renwick Drive extending westerly from Cayuga Heights Road to the Village lines was changed to•� 8. A proposed contract prepared by the City authorities providing for the disposal of the sewerage from the Village of Cayuga Heights was read and discussed and a committee consisting of Acting Mayor Vliegand and Engineer Carl Crandall was appointed to further negotiate with the City officials in charge of this matter and report to the Board of Trustees. The question of the construction of a gutter along the easterly side of Cayuga Heights Road was discussed but no action taken. Adjourned Village Ulerk r r—"
