The Mayor presented three deeds conveying certain property herein -
after.described, from J. T. Newman, et al, to the Village of Cayuga
Heights, and stated that Mr. Newman proposed to -give this property to
the Village. Deed No. 1 conveys the triangle bounded by Wyckoff Road,
Kline Road and Cayuga Heights-Road. Deed No. 2 conveys the western end
of Wyckoff Road as.re,- located and deed No. 3 conveys the extension of
Sunset Drive northerly to the property of John P. Young and Margaret K.O.
Young, and it was
' RESOLVED, That the right,.title and interest conveyed by these
deeds be accepted by the Board for the use and.benefit of the
140
Village of Cayuga Heights in accordance with the '
terms and provisions provided by the donor and contained
in said deed, and it was
FURTHER RESOLVED, That the Clerk extend to Mr. Newman
the appreciation of the Trustees for his interest in the
Village and his generosity in conveying this property
thereto.
It appeared that a portion of the triangle'mentioned in deed No. 1
as recited above was formerly owned by the Lake View Cemetery Company
and that said Cemetery Company had transferred to Jared T. Newman
pursuant to an order of the County Court. The question was raised as to
whether or not this was a proper procedure under the provisions of the
Membership Corporations Law and the Clerk was requested to take the matter
up with Mr. Newman.
Action on the matter of changing the name of that portion of
Renwick Drive extending westerly from Cayuga Heights Road to the new
street being opened to the northerly of Renwick Drive was deferred
until the next meeting of the Board, and the Clerk was requested to
advise the property holders on this portion of Renwick Drive and those
on that portion of the Drive east of Cayuga Heights Road that the
question of change of name will be taken up at the next regular meeting
of the Board to be held on February 11th. ,
The matter of devising some means of prohibiting the public from
driving cars on the grass in Sunset Park was referred to Trustee
Wilson with power.
Treasurer Heinicke reported that the curb around the catch basins
at Iroquois Road and the Parkway was badly cracked evidently due to
improper filling underneath the curbing, and the Clerk was requested to
notify Engineer Carl Crandall of this condition.
The Mayor was authorized to have ten maps of the Village prepared
by Mr. Carl Crandall on substantial material for use of the various
officers and committees of the Village at a cost of approximately $30.00.
