Engineer.Carl Crandall submitted a plan for a.sewage system for the.Village of Cayuga'Heights and a committee corisistirig,of• Mayor Williams and Trustee Garrett.was appointed to-take up with the Board of Public Works of the City.of Ithaca the matter of . connecting the sewage system of the Village with that of:the City and to.obtain if possible a definite proposition as..to the''cost thereof from.the officials of the City. After discussion it was determined'.that as•soon as the weather.cleared up sufficiently a fence of some nature would be placed,in the park to prevent driving on the lawns. Pursuant to section 52 of the Village Law it.mas RESOLVED : That the annual election'of the Village shall. be held at the Public School house'in said Village:on',the, 19th day of March and that the polls shall.be open from four. o'clock in the afternoon of that day until eight otclock in, the afternoon thereof. The.Mayor made a report of the conference with the Board. of Public Works of the City of Ithaca concerning the hydrant charges of $40.00 per hydrant which—the City la to be due for,several years last past. The amount claime SAA 400.' The Mayor stated that it had finally been agreed that it would be acceptable to All parties concerned if the Village paid $1,000. in full settlement of the back account and continued.to make the payment of $600. in the future. This action was approved by the Trustees and authority was given for the inclusion in the 1929 budget of the.$1,600.i . to make this payment. C 143. 2. Treasurer Heinicke.was requested to make up a tentative_ budget for the next fiscal year of the Village. 5. The Treasurer was instructed -to have his accounts-.audited . by a disinterested auditor..in the same manner as heretofore..'. . ra 6. It was resolved and unanimously adopted that ..a general: eting of the citizens of the Village of Cayuga Heights be': held:. 7:30 P. M. on Wednesday the 13th day of ,March, 1929 at the hool house in the:Village of :Cayuga Heights for:the purposes tlined in the following letter 144 "To the Citizens of the Village of Cayuga Heights. The. annual election of the Village of Cayuga Heights will be held at the Cayuga Heights school house on Tuesday, March the 19th, 1929, from 4 to.8 P.M., for the election of a Mayor to succeed W. L. Williams, and of two trustees to succeed C. C. Garrett and W. A. Hagan, whose terms of office expire March thirty - first, 1929. Pursuant to custom the Board of Trustees will hold an informal public meeting at the.Cayuga Heights school house on Wednesday, March the thirteenth at 7:30 P. M., for the following purposes 1. Preliminary plans and estimates for a sanitary sewer system for the Village will be submitted and discussion invited in order that the Board of Trustees may learn the views of the citizens regarding further action. The report and map submitted by the engineer may be examined prior to the meeting by interested citizens, at the residence of W. L. Williams, 209 White Park Road; and they will be available for examination at the school house on March 13th for one half hour rior to the meeting. 2. Nominations will be made-for the offices of Mayor and of I two Village Trustees. At the informal meeting of 1928 a resolution was adopted requesting that a nominating committee'be appointed. This has been done, and the committee, headed by Mr. A. B. Recknagel is expected to report. Since the terms of office of a majority of the Board of Trustees expires, and the new board must face the question of a sanitary sewer system and other matters of importance, it is hoped that the meeting will be well attended. 3. The Treasurer will submit his report for the past year and it will be open for discussion. 4. Opportunity will be offered for the discussion of any other matters of` interest to the Village.
