Inc., Oiling Triphammer Road -- . - - - -- .216.00 LIGHT FUND N.Y. 1� ectric Corporation, July Light -7 -------- 64.00 The bill for oiling of Triphammer.Road was approved with the understanding that the Town,of Ithaca.should be, billed for.$100.00 which it has agreed to contribute toward.the.oiling,`of this street., and the adjustment between the Village.and the individual contributors. for covering a portion of.the expense was referred to the.Mayor with. power. 129 The reply from Prof. J. F. Mason concerning the fill and sidewalk along his property was presented by the Clerk,. noted and ordered placed on file. The Mayor was authorized to request Engineer Carl Crandall to study the drainage problem on Wyckoff Road below Highland Avenue and make recommendations: Upon motion duly made and seconded the following ordinance was passed by the Boardsnd the Clerk instructed to make the necessary publication thereof "Sec. 1. All persons, other than those employed in caring for any public park or grounds within the.Village of Cayuga Heights, are hereby forbidden, while in such park or grounds, (1) to drive any vehicle :of any kind upon any'of the walks, paths or lawns therein; _(2) to deposit therein any refuse or litter of any kind; (3) to pluck any leaf, branch, or flower from, or to-injure ' any plant, tree, or shrub therein. Sec. 2. Violation of this Ordinance shall subject the offender to a penalty of Twenty -five Dollars, .to be recovered as prescribed by the Village Law. Viola ' tion of this Ordinance shall also constitute disorderly conduct and any person violating the same shall be a disorderly person, and shall be subject to a fine of not exceeding Twenty -five Dollars.11 The Mayor and Trustee Garrett were appointed a committee of two 5! o confer with Mr. Jared T. Newman concerning the question of the illage erecting a water standpipe in or near the Village and they were' further authorized to confer with Mr. Carpenter, Chairman of the Wator Board of the City of Ithaca,if developments made it seem advisable. A committee consisting of Trustees Wilson and Hagan was appointed to prepare or have prepared a building code for the Village. It was-the consensus of the Board that the holes on the Austin T. White property on E. Upland Road should be filled for the pr3tection of public health and also for the reason that they constitute a dangerous nuisance, 'and the Clerk was requested to take the matter up with Mr. White. The matter of garbage disposal was referred to the Mayor and Street Commissioner Perkins with power. The Mayor was requested to instruct.Engineer Carl Crandall to investigate the street lines at the corner of Upland Road the Parkway and Upland Road and Highland Road and place stakes on the street lines so that it may be determined whether or not the shrubbery at these corners encroaches upon the,street. J 130 Authority was granted for the opening of the ditch in front of Prof. Embody's house in order to drain the water which has caused trouble on Oakhill Road., Trustee Wiegand was appointed to look into the matter of the advisability of an ordinance in the Village against the use of fireworks and air guns. The Clerk wasauthorized to take up with the New York State Electric Corporation the matter of installing three additional lights in the Village -- one on the Parkway, one on E. Upland Road and one in Sunset Park. Authority was granted for the Street Commissioner to fill the holes in the Parkway with cold patch. The Mayor was authorized to secure from the Conley Construction Co. quotations for building the sidewalk along the Bentley property on the Parkway and such sidewalk as is necessary on Oakhill Road, and if the quotations are satisfactory to the Mayor he was requested to have this work done.
