It was suggested that a preliminary report of the latter committee might contain estimated costs of proposed improvements to be effected during the next fiscal year . which would be of use in preparing the budget to be submitted to the voters at the next annual meeting. Heinicke, Treasurer Meeting called for the purpose of deciding upon the nature and the amount of improvements which could be done on Parkway. Voted to go ahead with the draining and gravelling of a twenty -one foot roadway on this much - travelled road from Highland Road to Upland Road. The engineer's estimate of six thousand dollars (46000) as the amount necessary for the proper improvement of Parkway throughout Ats entire length from Highland Road to the north line of the Village was ecnsidered to be a little more than the moneys available would finance. Us Nevin, representing the owners of property on the south side of Upland Road east of Parkway; in regards the right to lay a water line and tap the main on Parkway: "It is understood that the property owners on East Upland Road between Parkway and Trip - hamper Road are to install a water main of not less than four inches internal diameter. The installation being such as the city water board will approve, with a cut -off valve near where this pipe leaves the main on the Parkway,'and that there shall be a curb box_ where each lateral main leads to the houses. This main is to be set in the ground at the approved depth for such mains and the mains are to run between the roadway and the sidewalk line in such a way as not to interfere with paving operations or the installation of'a sewer system in the road later. The water main as so laid is to be donated-to the Village and on the installation of the water line, a deed is to be given the Village transferring the ownership of the line to the Villagelt. Progress of road improvement on Parkway came up for a rather lengthy discussion, the President expressing deep concern over the results to be accomplished. Complaint concerning the use-of firearms in the Village discussed and decision reached to notify certain offenders of the Village ordinance covering such activities. Again the question of handling the automobile parking situation in front of the Kappa Delta Rho fraternity on Highland Road was considered. Voted to fix the second Tuesday evening of each month as the regular meeting night of the Village Board. Wilson be appointed a member of the Zoning Board of Appeals to fill the vacancy caused by , the resignation of Professor 0. L. McCaskill. Clerk instructed to notify both Professor Wilson and Professor Gage, Secretary of the Zoning Board of Appeals, of this action. The question of a regular meeting night for the Board was again brought up for discussion. Voted to change the night agreed upon at the last meeting to the second Monday night of each month as the regular time for transacting Village business. Consideration of types of street signs resulted in no definite action being taken as to the one to be used in posting the Village streets.
