The Board adopted resolution covering assessments for con -
struotion of Highland Road passing, to wit;-
Whereas, pursuant to an election duly held on June•26th,1922,
the Board of 'Trustees of the pillage of Cayuga Heights. at a
meeting duly cal]e d and held on the 27th day of June,, 1922, adopted
the following •resolution:
"In order to carry out the mandate of the electors as expressed

at a meeting duly called and held on the 2nd day of April, 1923,

"In order to carry out the mandate of the electors as
expressed at said election, it is resolved that the highway de-
signated and described in said proposition shall be completed,...o
one-third of such expenditure to be borne by the village and two -
thirds thereof by the abutting property owners of said highway,
the said two - thirds to be apportioned and assessed against such
abutting owners according to their frontage in the manner provided
by the statute;"

within twenty days after notice of such assessment has been duly
served on the property owners,_,that they may be paid in not more than
five annual installments to be levied in the annual tax levy each
year and to bear interest, as provided in the village law (Secs.
166, 275 Village Laws of New York).

a ten -year contract with the New York State uas and Slootrio
Corporation beginning August 1, 1923 for village lighting at $24.00
per light per year. Copy of contract filed.

The following resolution was presented by the President: -
Where as , a t a special meeting of the Board of Trustees of the

Village of Cayuga Heights held on the 16th day of August, 1923, that
portion of the expense of paving Highland Road which was to be assessed
upon adjoining lands pursuant to resolutions of the Board of Trustees
of said Village heretofore duly adopted, was duly assessed upon the
lands adjoining said road and benefitted thereby; and
Whereas, the aggregate amount of such assessment now remaining

unpaid is $139401.419
Resolved that a Certificate of Indebtedness for the payment
of seventy -five hundred dollars in five equal annual installments be
issued, the first payment to be made on the first day of July, 1924
and the subsequent payments to be made annually thereafter with interest
payable semi - annually on the first days of January and July at the rate
of five per cent per annum; interest and principal payable at the
Banking Office of the Ithaca Savings Bank. with the privilege to the
Village to pay the whole or any additional portion of the principal on
any date when interest is payable.
That the President be authorized and directed to issue such
Certificate for and in the name of the Village and to attach the corporate
seal thereto, and that the same be attested by the Village Clerk.
That the said Certificate of Indebtedness be sold and negotiated
to the ao' Savings Bank at par that being the best price obtainable.
Moved and seconded that the Treasurer be authorized two pay the
principal and interest of two notes of $4,000.CD eaoh at the Ithaca
Savings Bank, due October 1. 1923.
