Report of the Engineer

PERSONNEL
Mr. James W.-Addicott has worked for the Village as a temporary laborer from
May 1983 to October 1983 when he had to leave for medical reasons. Mr. Addicott
returned to the Village as a temporary: laborer in September 1984 with a doctor's
certificate saying he could return to work.
It is now recommended that Mr. James W. Addicott be appointed as a full -time
permanent laborer to fill the vacancy left by the resignation of Mr. Stephen Roco,
and that the rate of pay be $5.50 /hr. or $11,440 per year with all regular Village
employee fringe benefits.
FIRE STATION
The Engineer is working with the Fire Chief to prepare plans and specifications to
replace the six overhead doors at the station with insulated doors with less glass.
The old doors will be salvaged and put out to bid for sale by the Village. Board
approval is requested to advertise for bids on both items.
HOLIDAY SCHEDULE
Public Works Employees will not work on Christmas Day, Tuesday, Dec. 25 and New
Year's Day, Tuesday, Jan. 1 except in an emergency. Friday, December 21, from
11:30 to 2:00, the Village office and D.P.W. will hold, in the Village Board Room,
a Christmas luncheon for all Village employees and officials. Please mark your
calendar. It is hoped you all can attend. If you cannot attend, please let the
Village Clerk know.
LEAF PICK UP
Leaf removal was scheduled up until Dec. 15. One last trip on every street will be
made after Dec. 15 to pick up any loose leaves piled by the road. After that trip,
leaves will be picked up only if they are in containers.
PLEASANT GROVE ROAD WALKWAY /BIKEWAY
The Town of Ithaca wished an expression of the Board on their proposal to build a 4'
wide walk /bikeway on both sides of Pleasant Grove Road. The 4' wide paved area would
be adjacent to the existing road pavement.
SIDEWALKS
A sidewalk map of the "Old" Village was made for the proposed sidewalk district.
Copies are available for Board members who wish a copy.
