Miller, Fire Chief Re: Report of the Fire Chief for October 1984 During October the Fire Department responded to $ fire calls. These calls can be broken down into 2 alarm malfunctions at B.O.C.E.S. , 1 odor of gas which turned out to be a skunk, 1 malicious false alarm at Dewitt Jr. High School, and 1 motor vehicle accident in front of Dewitt Jr. High School, The Rescue Squad responded to 16 rescue calls. These calls are broken down as follows: 1 fractured jaw 1 2 fractured ankle 1 1 difficulty breathing 1 2 head lacerations 1 1 car -bike accident 1 1 motor vehicle accident (2 victums) 1 1 motor vehicle accident (Lansing) 1 man trapped in trash compactor(Lansing) rib injuries search (Ithaca) chest pains poisoning abdominal pain micro -alert for a fall I took one engine to Dewitt Jr. High for four sections of a health class being taught to seventh graders.We spent half of each section in the class talkt:ng and answering questions, and the other half outside looking over the engine and the equipment on it.
