HomeMy WebLinkAboutReport of the Engineer Sept 1984VILLAGE OF CAYUGA HEIGHTS Report of the Engineer September 1984 SEWAGE TREATMENT PLANT Foundations have been poured and are ready for the delivery of the new belt filter press. Detailed shop drawings and required submittals have been sent by Envirex and have been approved,Qinder terms of contract with Envirex partial payment of 20% of the lump sum price of $105,000 ($105,000 x 20% _ $21,000) is now due Envirex. Delivery of the press is now scheduled for the week of September 17 or September 24. Upon delivery of the press to our plant, the contract calls for payment of an additional 50% of the lump sum price ($105,000 x 50%= $52,500). The final 30% is due Envirex upon receipt of a retention bond equal to 30% of the lump sum after the delivery of the equipment (press). This retention bond shall be held as surety and released by the Village 30 calendar days after the success- ful completion of the acceptance STREETS Asphalt curbs have been poured on Iroquois Road between The Parkway and White Park Place to replace broken and out-of -line concrete curbs. The cost of material was about $.75 /lineal foot. The curb paving machine was provided by the contractor that paved the road base at no charge and the only other cost was Village men and truck. The top 1" of asphalt paving will be placed before September 21 for the completion of the project. BRUSH CUT BACK In addition to the 10 letters sent to property owners on brush cutback, 72 additional letters have gone out. So -far most residents have trimmed back their property within the time.limit. The untrimmed properties will be cut by the Village workforce and charged to the property owners. 825 HANSHAW ROAD Foundation drain pipes were plugged with willow tree roots. A new gravity drain system was installed to replace them and the sump pump system. PERSONNEL Steven Roco, who has worked for the Village since 2/2/82 as a laborer, resigned 9/10/84. Cur summer full time help did an excellent job for us this year. Both have now returned to school.
