Re: Report of the Fire Chief for June 1984
The month of June has been very slow for the Fire Department. There
have been 5 rescue calls and 9 fire calls for the month. The 5 rescue
calls were made up of 1 full arrest, 1 unconcious person, 1 stroke,
i foot laceration, and 1 head laceration.
The 9 fire calls were made up of 6 false alarms at our fire station,
1 street light on fire, 1 car fire we could not find, and 1 smoke
detector malfunction at B.O.C.E.S. The Telephone company is moving
their phone lines between Warren road and their central office.
Everytime their workers change or touch an alarm wire, we are called
by the automatic alarm systems.
I wish to report I had a wonderful time at the New York State
Fire Chief's Convention. As always, the newest and best equipment
available for fire service was on display. Some of the next generation
of equipment is starting to appear. Computers are playing more and
more of a roll in our work. The dispatching systems are becoming
more popular. The record keeping is starting to become more available,
as software packages. The most recent advances in rescue equipment
was all on display.
Sincerely,
Francis L. Miller
