Marcham, Mayor Members of the Board of Trustees Village of Cayuga Heights From: Francis L. Miller, Fire Chief Re: Fire Chief's Monthly Report for March 1984 The Fire Department had a very slow month. There were 3 calls for the Rescue Squad, 2 calls for incidents, and 3 fire calls. The Rescue Squad checked out 3 persons from a motor vehicle accident, helped 1 person who fell from a wheelchair, and responded to one call which found the person dead. Our officers checked out a power failure alarm from a house in the Village and found that guests at a party had piled coats on the box which holds the circuit breakers and shut off some of the power in the house. We also helped the Police Department transport some stop signs around the Village. The Fire Department responded to an automatic alarm at a house where we found the occupants burning incense with smoke detectors all over the house. We responded to a malfunction in an automatic alarm system. We were called to•investigate a strange odor in a house which turned out to be a burned out motor in a furnace. The snow storm we had last month caused the Police Department•to use our ol¢ rescue vehicle as a patrol car. The 4 -wheel drive made it much easier to get around with. We were very happy to be able'to help by loaning the vehicle after we used it to pick up some of our men to standby in the fire house in case of fire.
