REPORT OF THE ENGINEER
December, 1983
PERSONNEL
Because of weather conditions, winter time is the most probable for overtime
work. For this reason, a clear statement of policy should be adopted by the
Board at their December meeting. A proposed statement for Wage and Salary
Administration for Public Works Employees is attached for the Board consider-
ation.
ASPHALT SCHOOL
During the week of December 5 - as authorized by the Trustees;- the Engineer
attended a Cornell Eooai Roads Program concentrated course on asphalt concrete.
VILLAGE HALL REPAIRS
Exterior repairs of pointing, slate replacement flashing, and gutters and down-
spout. work have.beemicw*&etdd. Replacement of some wood beams should be done
in conjunction with changes to be made in the annex. A quotation has been re-
ceived from Harold A. Wright for interior work as follows: (Attached). This
price would hold only if work can be scheduled for this winter, a slow time
for painters. Work should be scheduled after changes are made in the Police
Department area. There is not sufficient money in the 1983 -84 Village Hall
Budget to cover the proposed cost. Does the Board wish to pursue any part or
all of this work this winter? If not, it should be budgeted for next year as
the Village Hall does need interior painting.
SEWAGE TREATMENT PLANT
Calocerinos & Spina, Consulting Engineers, were notified of the Board accept-
ance of their proposall dated November 14, 1983. A letter contract covering
this work should be signed by both parties.
