REPORT OF ENGINEER
July 1983
STREETS
N. Triphammer patch paving of the two culvert road openings was completed last
week by a contract paver for $1,600. Repaving of N. Triphammer Road from Texas
Lane to the north Village line should be done next year.
Spray patching of Streets according to the 1982 -83 Road Repair Program has been
started with Texas Lane and Texas Lane extension.. These roads needed extensive
patching and should be double surface treated next year.
SEWAGE TREATMENT PLANT
The Engineer and Plant Operator, Gleason, were flown down to Stamford, Conn.
by a manufacturer's representative, to inspect a belt fitter press.operation.
Efficiency, O & M costs, labor costs, downtime, and owner's opinion of this
belt filter press were al). favorable. Stamford's figures were that in six
months their belt filter presses paid for themselves.
Investigations are under way to determine if a licensed professional engineer is
required for design and installation of a belt filter press.for the Village.
SIDEWALKS
More requests for sidewalk repairs have been received and requests for new side-
walks. Patching of dangerous spots have been made.
PERSONNEL
Bruce Hoyt has been discharged from the hospital and expects to be back at limited
duty in a week.
There have been a rash of small injuries on the job in the past few weeks.
