REPORT OF THE ZONING OFFICER
June 1983
During the last month no zoning permits were.issued for new.construction.
Two permits were issued for $30,700 worth of alterations and additions,
and two sign permits were issued.
The longstanding existence of a carport within the 25 foot front yard setback
at 806 Hanshaw Road was brought to the attention of the property owner some months
ago. A permit for a new garage with proper setback distances was requested and
issued and-the existing carport has been removed.
The occupancy of 206 Oak Hill Road was investigated as a result of questions
raised by residents on that street. The occupancy according to a written state-
ment by the attorney of the owner was one person in the basement apartment,
two couples occupying the rest of the house which is legal under the Village
Ordinance. Further check of the records showed a single sewer unit charged for
this house. Upon a signed letter from the attorney that the occupancy by a
"non- family" member started in January, 1979. A sewer rent bill for backcharges
was sent.
zoning Officer /Engineer Rogers and Trustee Allee met with Mrs. Grossvogel and
her son at 8:30 on 5/19/83 at her property.on Triphammer Road. They were informed
that the fence on University playing field could not be taken down but that screen
planting might be possible in front of it. The water on the Grossvogel property
did not come from the University playing fields:•. The culvert under Country Club
Lane would be cleaned, shaped and filled slightly to allow mowing and prevent
standing water. Their concerns about the pending paving for a child care center
of the University house to the north were discussed as was the trimming of their
trees for traffic obstruction by Westview Apts.
