Marcham, Mayor Members of the Board of Trustees Village of Cayuga Heights From: Francis L. Miller, Fire Chief Re: Revort of the Fire Chief for March 1983 The Fire Department responded to 4 fire alarms during March. We were called to 1 grass fire on Cambridge Place, 1 wires sparking in the trees at Hurlburt House, 1 alarm malfunction at BOCES , and 1 false alarm at Sigma Chi Fraternity. We had 2 incident calls during the month. I went to a residence on Berkshire Road to explain to the owners of a cockatoo that we are not equipped to rescue such birds from 50 feet up in trees. Another member and I also assisted an ambulance crew in loading a patient into the ambulance after carrying him down stairs. The Rescue Squad responded to T rescue calls. They found upon arrival, 1 leg fracture, 1 difficulty breathing, 1 stroke, 1 back injury, and 1 test on an automatic alarm system. They responded to 2 mutual aid calls. One was a 2 car motor vehicle accident in Ithaca with 5 injured persons, the other was in Village of Lansing for a person who fell. Respectfully submitted Francis L. Miller Fire Chief "HELP PREVENT FIRES"
