TELEPHONE 607.257 -1011 CHIEF OF POLICE February 22, 1983 Honorable Frederick G. Marcham, Mayor Members of the Board of Trustees Village of Cayuga Heights I hereby submit the report of the activities of the Cayuga Heights Police Department for the-Year 1982. The total number of complaints handled by the Police Department increased slightly over the number handled in 1981, however the felony complaints continued to decrease. Our crime prevention efforts continued during the year and we believe this has resulted in the continuing decrease of burglaries and larcenies. Citizens continue to call us to report suspicious persons and activities and this allows us to do a better job with no increase in personnel. The number of motor vehicle accidents in the Village remain stable, although unfortunately we did have one fatal accident during the year. The support and cooperation given to the Police Department by the Mayor, the Board of Trustees and other Village officials as well as the public is greatly appreciated and has made it possible for us to continue to provide good police service to the Village. Respectfully, Harlin R. McEwen Chief of Police 4 COMPLAINTS HANDLED 1980 1981 1982 FELONIES: Burglary .................................................. 27 17 16 Grand Larceny .............. .......................0....... 16 16 5 Attempt to Commit a Crime .. ............................... 3 8 9 Criminal Possession of Forged Instrument .................. 14 6 2 Grand Larceny -Motor Vehicle ............................... 2 2 2 Fugitive from Justice 0 0 1 ...... ...............................
