REPORT OF ZONING OFFICER
September 1982
At the request of the Village Board, 220 Comstock Rd. was inspected for a
possible apartment. Although the building is laid out for a residence plus
an apartment, the kitchen was removed from the area that was obviously an
apartment in the past so that there was no;:separate apartment.
An attempt was made to inspect the Morusty property on N. Triphammer Rd. The
Zoning Officer was not permitted to inspect by the residents and referred to
the owner who in turn referred him to his attorney, Richard Mulvey, who in turn
referred the Zoning Officer to the Village Attorney for consultation before con-
tinuing with the inspection. A statement of the rights of the Zoning Officer
to make such inspections is requested from the Village Attorney.
The Mobil Station. on Hanshaw Road applied for a sign permit and was issued a
permit for the erection of a 20 sq. foot sign on the face of the building.
Questions were raised by the Convenient Food Mart as to the size of this sign
and they were referred_to our Zoning Ordinance that permits this size sign.
The question of signs in glass windows, readable from the exterior of the build-
ing, but assumed by both the Convenience Food Mart and the Mobil to be interior
signs was discussed with both parties. This is an area that should be reviewed
and the intent of the sign ordinance clarified so that it is enforceable by the
Zoning Officer.
A complaint was received that on the Petrillose property on Pleasant Grove Road
used cars were offered for sale. Robert Petrillose was notified that this was
in violation of the Zoning Ordinance and he agreed to comply with the Zoning
Ordinance by removing_.the cars and assured the Village that in the future he
would not display any such cars for sale.
A request was received for possible sub - division of the lot at 529 Cayuga Heights
Road.
Patten's Jewelers on Pleasant Grove Rd. have met informally with the Zoning
Officer to request an extension of their building on the small piece of ground
that they have on Pleasant Grove Road.
