September 20 , 1982
To: Honorable Frederick G. Marcham, Mayor
Members of the Board of Trustees
Village of Cayuga Heights
Subject: Fire Chief's Report for August 1982
The Fire Department had a very quiet month in August. There were three
fire calls, no incident calls and four rescue calls. There were two
company drills and one State course in pump operations given at the
fire house during the month.
The three fire calls were 1 motor vehicle fire, 1 wires down and branches
burning in a tree, and 1 dishwasher fire out on our arrival. The four
rescue calls were 2 cardiac calls, 1 stroke, and 1 person down which
turned out to be a truck driver sleeping by the side of the road.
On August 21 and 22 there were 15 men from our Fire Department who spent
all day Saturday and all day Sunday at a seminar at Ithica College. The
seminar was sponsored by the County and put on by the Fire Chief of the
Phoenix, Arizona Fire Department. The Fire Ground 7ommander was the title
of the seminar. 'de were extremely fortunate to have a seminar of this
quality put on so close to home.
During the month of September we hope to have an increase in activity
around the Fire House. We will be doing the annual hose testing, the
annual pump testing, the monthly meetings will start once again, and
the annual picinic will be held on September 26.
Respectfully submitted
Francis L. Miller
