HomeMy WebLinkAboutReport of the Engineer 7/19/1982VILLAGE OF CAYUGA HEIGHTS REPORT OF ENGINEER July 19, 1982 SEWER PLANT The outfall pipe on inspection last year indicated there was some obstruction material in the pipe near the end grating. Quotations on correcting this prob- lem are being requested. It is estimated the cost should not exceed $1000. A tour of the sewer plant by the Board of Trustees can be set up for some time in the first two weeks in August. Possibly the Board would like to take a tour of the sewer plant on August 16 at 7 p.m.just before the next Board meeting. We have received some word that the DEC has changed their policy and that plants of under 2 MGD can land apply sludge without an engineering environmental report. This would mean there is a possibility that we might be able to land apply liquid sludge on the Tyrrell and Austic farms this summer or early fall. Applications are being prepared at the present by the sewer plant operator and Village Engineer. The paving of Triphammer Rd. is scheduled to be accomplished within the next two or three weeks. It is necessary to install 700 feet of storm sewer line in Triphammer Rd. on the east side of the road across from Sheldon Rd. to drain storm water which lies between the sidewalk and the road shoulder. Work on the storm sewer line is scheduled to start July 13. Triphammer sidewalk repair job is completed except for the application of a sealer which must wait until the concrete has cured for 30 days and the application of the asphalt in the shoulder and driveway to the Africana Center which will be done after the paving of Triphammer R9. The road ditching on the south side of E. Remington has been completed. There is still some additional grading on the west side of Highland Rd. just south of the corner of E. Remington that must be completed. E. UPLAND ROAD SIDEWALK The schedule for the construction of the E. Upland Rd. sidewalk is as follows: Design to be submitted to County Highway Dept. for approval - week of July 12. Expected approval and putting out to bid - week of July 19. Acceptance of bid at a Special Board Meeting - week of July 26. Start of construction - week of August 2. VILLAGE HALL Electrical contractors examined and tested the flickering of lights and circuits both interior and the incoming lines and were not convinced that an additional new service line would solve the problem of the flickering lights. They suggested further testing to be done by NYSEG and have arranged for this testing to be done. A painter has been hired to paint the exterior of 825 Hanshaw R3. for $700. The Village will provide the paint. over
