Re: Fire Chief's Report for the month of May 1982
The members of the Fire Department answered 4 fire calls in the month of May
with all of them within a 24 hour period of time. bone of the calls amounted
to any problems. There were 4 incident calls during the month to check odors
and noises coming from the wall of the house and to stand by at a motor vehicle
accident with a fire truck while the wrecker pulled the vehicle from the creek
bed. There were 14 Rescue Squad calls in the month with cardiac problems all
the way down to bumped heads.
As normal the Rescue Squad spent more time on calls then the rest of the
Department on fire and incident.calls. Since the first two months of this
year the fire calls have slowed down to a crawl. This is not bothering any
of the firemen in the department. We appreciate the rest.
The Fire Department held our annual banquet at Moakley House during the month
and a good time was had by all. We hope our guests had as enjoyable a time as
we did.
The new truck committee has been busy gathering material for a replacement
vehicle for the squad truck. We hope to have enough material to meet with
the Public Safety Committee in the near future. I am spending the day today
at the New York State Association of Fire Chief's convention looking over
all the new offerings.
Respectfully submitted,
Francis L. Miller
