REPORT OF ENGINEER - March 1982
SIDEWALKS
A meeting has been set up with Dr. Elkins and Mr. Indelicato to discuss
saving pine trees on their East Upland Road properties.
WATER SYSTEM
Plans were discussed with the Water Commission construction department to
work on Village valves and lines as soon as weather permits this Spring.
A division valve at the City line on Cayuga Heights Road and the replace-
ment of a leaky 2 -in. galvanized line in Wyckoff Roard are top priority;
also, a valve and fire hydrant at Cayuga Heights Road and Remington Road,
a valve at White Park Road and Triphammer Road, and a replacement of a
section of 6 -in. line on N. Sunset are scheduled.
WASTEWATER TREATMENT PLANT
The Engineer and sewer plant operator drove to the DEC Office in
Syracuse to pick up the Village 364 Sludge Transportation Permit which
allows transportation of sludge to the Landstrom land fill for disposal.
A discussion was also held on acquiring a permit under the "grandfather
clause" to allow use of the Tyrrell farm for disposal.
SNOW AND ICE
Additional snow storms have required emergency purchases of salt that
exceed the Snow Removal Supplies budget.
REPORT OF ZONING OFFICER - March 1982
No zoning permits were issued during the last month. Two road opening
permits were issued; one to New York Telephone Co. to repair a telephone
conduit under the sidewalk on N. Triphammer Road at Texas Lane intersec-
tion; the other to NYSEG to insulate a gas line at 202 Winthrop Drive.
Mr. Vanek, 414 Triphammer Road, has again erected some solar energy
devices on his property without a zoning permit. He violates the Village
Ordinances requiring a resident to keep his property in slighly and
sanitary condition and other Village Zoning Ordinances. He has been
notified to remove the structures.
