Mr. Landstrom has offered totake sludge but only one truck load a day and at a cost of $12.00 /ton. The one truck load a day does not meet our plant operation needs and $12.00 /ton ($60 - $70 a truck load) is out of line - at this rate the annual cost would be $121000. Negotiations continue with Landstrom, the Tompkins County, and the DEC. SNOW AND ICE REMOVAL Extremely cold ground, freezing rain, and cold weather have caused serious ice problems throughout the Village. The streets were salted and sanded and are now clean and dry but sidewalks are still a problem. They were plowed a number of times and salted in dangerous spots, but there is still ice in some areas. This is an area of potential Village liability that should be considered when the whole sidewalk question is reviewed. VILLAGE HALL ANNEX At the request of the tenant, Wordpro, the front door was examined and the door frame was found to have some rot. Builder Frank Hanshaw was retained to repair the frame and door if possible and if not, to replace the door and frame. This is a condition of the door at the time the tenant moved in so it will be a Village expense. There is a high heat loss in the building because of the number of large windows all of which are single glazed. The tenant pays his own heating bill. Does the Board wish the Village to participate in storm window cost for the annex? is A q The Engineer continues to meet with D.P.W. Supervisor, the Sewer Plant Operator, and the Public Works Committee and the Board of Trustees proposed 1982 -83 budget will be completed this week. REPORT OF THE ZONING OFFICER One zoning permit was issued in the last month for an addition at an estimated. cost of $25,000. Professor Cowan is requesting a hearing before the Zoning Board of Appeals to appeal the interpretation of the Zoning Officer that his operation of a publishing company at his residence is in violation of the Zoning Ordinance.
