Marcham, Mayor Members of the Board of Trustees Village of Cayuga Heights Re. Report of the Fire Chief for November 1981 The month of November included six fire calls for the Fire Department. These fire calls included two alarm malfunctions at a sorority house on Ridgewood road,one accidental alarm at North East School,one malicious false alarm at Dewitt Junior High School, a leaf fire on Forest Home Drive, and two blown fuses on an electric range in a house on Texas Lane. This added up to thirty -one man hours spent on fire calls for the month. The incidents for the month were two investigations of odor of gas, one flooded cellar on Muriel Street and the investigation of an electrical short in an oven at Warrenwood Apartments. These added up to ten man hours spent on investigations for the month of November. The Rescue Squad had nine calls for the month of November. These calls included two difficulty breathing,two cardiac calls, one fall getting cat off roof of house, one full arrest, one motor vehicle accident, one malicious false alarm, and one person refused treatment after a motor vehicle accident. There were twenty -four and three tenths manhours put in by the rescue squad for the month on calls. Two of the Rescue Squad members passed the Advanced Emergency Technician Level three course at TCCC this month. This means the first two members of the Squad have advanced into the upper levels of in the field emergency treatment. They will be licenced by the State of New York to administer drugs and start IVs under the supervision of a doctor. The Fire Company had two drills during the month which included tank trucks. These drills proved very valuable for the men with practice of what to do if we find a truck overturned on Route 13 some night.
