NEW YORK 14850 • TELEPHONE 607. 257 -1011 CHIEF OF POLICE November 16, 1981 TO: Honorable Frederick G. Marcham, Mayor Members of the Board of Trustees Village of Cayuga Heights SUBJECT: Report of the Police Chief for October 1981 The Police Department handled 66 complaints and investigated 9 motor vehicle accidents during the month. There were 30 traffic tickets and 27 parking tickets issued. There were five felony complaints, four for grand larceny and.one grand larceny of motor vehicle. There were fourteen misdemeanor complaints, four criminal mischief, three issuing bad checks, three aggravated harassment, two petit larceny, one criminal trespass and one criminal possession of stolen property. Three persons were arrested for possession of stolen - property 3rd degree, two persons were arrested for petit larceny and one person was arrested for driving while intoxicated. Bids for a new telephone system for the Village Hall and Police Department were received on November 9, 1981 and they have been reviewed in preparation for awarding of a bid at this meeting. Quotations have been received for police officers professional liability insurance and public officials liability insurance and William S.:'Scott Jr. of the Ithaca Agency, our insurance broker.will be at'..the Board meeting to make a recommendation on coverage. A local.law to make the Village responsible for such coverage should also be passed at this meeting. There was a total of $1,609.00 in property reported lost or stolen and $426.72 in property was recovered..by the Police Department of.Village property as well as $4,000 in property recovered for other departments.
