SUBJECT: Report of the Police Chief for September 1981
The Police Department handled 82 complaints and investigated 8 motor
vehicle accidents during the month. There were 55 traffic tickets and
35 parking tickets issued.
There were three felony complaints, one for grand larceny and two for
criminal possession of a forged instrument. There were twenty -nine
misdemeanor complaints, nine petit larceny, nine criminal mischief,
four issuing bad checks, two criminal trespass, two aggravated harassment,
one public lewdness, one possession of weapons, and one criminal
impersonation.
Three persons were arrested for driving while intoxicated and two persons
were arrested for harassment. Three juveniles were apprehended for
criminal trespass, two for petit larceny and two for grand larceny.
Preliminary specifications for a new telephone system were reviewed by the
Public Safety Committee and the Village Treasurer and final bidding
specifications will be advertised this week after they were reviewed also
by interested bidders. Bids are to be submitted by November 9, 1981 at
1:00 P.M. and will be ready for review by the Village Board at the monthly
meeting on November 16, 1981 with a recommendation for award of bid.
There was a total of $1,092.13 in property reported lost or stolen and
$731.94 in property recovered by the Police Department..In addition there
was $170.00 in property recovered for other police agencies.
The full -time officers worked 34 hours overtime and the part -time officers
worked 37 hours during the month.
