HomeMy WebLinkAboutReport of the Engineer Aug 1981VILLAGE OF CAYUGA HEIGHTS REPORT OF ENGINEER August 1981 SEWAGE TREATMENT PLANT A contract has been signed with Picard and Anderson, engineering firm, for an engineering report and application for a sludge disposal permit. Engineer Dave Petrocelli has started work. Property owners on the east side of Hanshe.w Road between Cayuga Heights and East Upland Road have been notified that they are responsible for removing brush, trees, and weeds near the sidewalk and on the road right of way between the sidewalk and the traveled paving. They were also notified that the sidewalk will receive an asphalt covering this Fall. A copy of the letter sent to property owners is attached to this report. HIGHLAND ROAD Adjacent property owners were'again notified and shown the map of the revised plan for control of flood waters from Remington Creek prior to re- starting construction work on August 10. The roadway Swale and road base have been reshaped, the asphalt paving on the road has been removed :thirty feet further to the south, and the shoulders of the road within the road right of way are now being shaped to carry any excess flood waters back into the stream: It is anticipated that the paving of the road will be accomplished this week. EAST UPLAND ROAD SIDEWALK A report on the location of the sidewalk on East Upland Road between Ceyuga Heights Road and the Community Corners will be presented by the Engineer. Acceptance of these plans and permission to.proceed with this project is requested from the Board. PAINTED TRAFFIC LANES Because of paving, a painting contractor's going out of business, lack of traffic paint; and because a painting machine owned by the City of Ithaca was out of opera- tion, the painting,of traffic lanes in the Village was delayed. It is proposed that the Village contract with the City for the painting of traffic lanes, as was done this past week, and the work be done as soon as the weather will permit in the Spring, probably in the month of June. REPORT OF ZONING OFFICER One zoning permit was issued for a new house at an estimated cost of $69,800. Five permits were issued for alterations and additions for an estimatec construc- tion cost of $49,800..
