SUBJECT: Report of the Police Chief for May 1981
The Police Department handled 78 complaints and investigated 4 motor
vehicle accidents during the month. On May 28th, we investigated
a fatal motor vehicle accident on North Triphammer Road. This was
the first fatal accident in the Village since July 14, 1974. There
were 61 traffic tickets and 25 parking tickets issued.
There were no felony complaints during the month. There were thirty -
seven misdemeanor complaints, ten for criminal mischief, nine petit
larceny, seven bad checks, four criminal trespass, two aggravated
harassment, one criminal possession of stolen property, one public
lewdness, one falsely reporting an incident, one criminal impersonation,
and one endangering welfare of a child.
Two persons were arrested for criminal trespass 2nd degree, two persons
were arrested for driving while intoxicated, two persons were arrested
for trespass, one person was arrested for escape 3rd degree, one person
was arrested for unlawfully dealing with a child, one person was
arrested for unlawful possession of marijuana, and one person was arrested
for criminal impersonation. one juvenile was apprehended for unlawful
possession of marijuana and hitchiking.
The 1979 Chevrolet police car was sold to the Village of Baldwinsville
Police Department for $2,900.
There was a total of $1,066.10 in property reported lost or stolen and
$347.64 in property was recovered by'the Police Department.
The full -time officers worked a total of 34 hours overtime and the
part -time officers worked 53 hours during the month.
