SUBJECT: Report of the Police Chief for April 1981
The Police Department handled 86 complaints and investigated 8 motor
vehicle accidents during the month. There were 68 traffic tickets
and 27 parking tickets issued.
There were seven felony complaints, two for burglary, two for criminal
possession of a forged instrument, one for grand larceny, one for
attempted burglary and one for grand larceny of a motor vehicle. There
were eighteen misdemeanor complaints, six for criminal mischief, four
for aggravated harassment, three for petit larceny, two for criminal
trespass, one bad check, one falsely reporting an incident, and
one criminal impersonation:
Two persons were arrested for driving while intoxicated, one person
was arrested for aggravated harassment, and one person was arrested
for unlawful possession of marijuana. Three juveniles were apprehended
for criminal trespass and two juveniles were apprehended for disorderly
conduct.
Trustee Anderson and Chief McEwen conducted a.survey of tWe street
lights as directed by the Village Board.Six changes in existing street
lights are recommended which will improve street lighting at a total
increase in cost to the Village of $6.47 a year.
The old police car has not been sold although it has been advertised
twice in various news publications.The Treasurer has suggested that
it be advertised again at the same minimum bid price of $2,900.
There was a total of $3,612.07 in property reported lost or stolen
and $2,849.07 in property was recovered by the Police Department.
The full -time officers worked a total of 25 hours overtime and the
part -time officers worked 49 hours during the month.
