REPORT OF ENGINEER
May 18, 1981
WATER LINES
The Water Commission wishes to do the following water systems improvements in the
Village during the fiscal year 1981 -82:
1) Replace 45 feet of 6 -inch line in North Sunset over Remington Creek culvert. This
was not replaced by the City some 10 years ago when Remington Creek culvert was
replaced. This work should be done by the Village rather than the Water Commission
and charged to "Streets" rather than "Water Systems ".
2) Replace a valve on Cayuga Heights Road near the City line. Estimated cost $1000.
3) Replace.a 6 -inch valve and install a fire hydrant on the corner of Berkshire Road
and Cayuga Heights Road. Estimated cost $2500.. Major portion of this should be
charged to Fire Protection.
4) Replace faulty 6 -inch valve at the corner of White Park Road and Triphammer Road.
Estimated cost $1000.
5) Replace 2 -inch galvanized supply line in Wyckoff Road to solve leakage problem
that has been bothering Cayuga Heights Road for 5 years or more. Estimated cost
$2000.
6) Purchase 80 or 90 valve lines for replacement throughout the Village. Estimated
cost $900.
Money for this work is in the budget under "Water Contract Services" or other Water
System accounts.
SICK LEAVE POLICY
A request is made for adoption of sick leave policy to be effective at the beginning
of the 1981 -82 fiscal year.
STREAM DRAINAGE
Stream drainage problems near the C.E. Treman property on Highland Road have been
investigated. A plan will be presented at the Board meeting.
REPORT OF ZONING OFFICER
In the last month one zoning permit was issued for the construction of a new house
for an estimated cost of $75,000. Four zoning permits were issued for additions and
alterations for an estimated cost of $52,700.
There were no road opening permits issued in the last month.
The WORDPRO, our tenant in the Village Hall Annex, has contracted to purchase the
G.A. Hill commercial property on Upland Road, so there will be no Branchini development
of that property.
